The Platform Engineering group is seeking a **Senior Principal Engineer, Infrastructure Platform SME** to ensure the successful delivery of a Private Cloud Infrastructure for one of our premier programs at our Plano, TX campus.
As the Infrastructure SME, you will be the leading technical contributor within a multi-disciplined team through implementation, integration, and Modernization effort, while meeting or exceeding scheduled milestones. Additionally, in this role you will be responsible for management of schedules, the creation and review of design/implementation documentation, and will service as an Infrastructure Subject Matter Expert (SME) for this effort.
**Note:** This position is based out of Richardson, but work will be performed at an onsite location in Plano, TX
What You Will Do
+ You will leverage company and industry best practices and capabilities to assist with deployment, implementation, modernization, and support of DevOps solutions.
+ Work directly with Infrastructure Architect as well as Integrated Product Team (IPT) Leadership to determine the appropriate prioritization and implementation of Tasks.
+ You will support software tool customization and automation including deployment of templates, dashboards, and scripts to support program needs.
+ You will Coordinate needs and priorities specific to the implementations with Technical and Program and IPT Management.
+ You will be a key contributor and driver of the rapid implementation and upkeep of the Program Work Environment (PWE)
+ You will be a significant contributor to the modernization of the infrastructure stack to include the movement toward virtualized services and upgrades to the latest technologies
+ You will analyze, make recommendations, and drive the implementation of network and systems improvements and stability
+ You will Manage implementation schedules and team coordination to ensure infrastructure implementations are in accordance with the scope of the contract requirements.
+ You will ensure compliance with the program’s discrepancy / problem reporting and review process.
+ Identify, collect, and analyze metrics to drive continues process improvement.
Qualifications You Must Have
+ Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and ten (10) years of prior systems engineering experience
+ Able to break down complex ideas into easy-to-understand tasks
+ Strong background in networking, LDAP, Linux, Windows, and Virtualization
+ Strong interpersonal skills: Possess the ability to communicate technical and project information clearly and effectively to peers, management, and external associates
+ Active and transferable U.S. government issued TS/SCI clearance is required on day 1. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Qualifications We Prefer
+ Experience implementing Scaled Agile Frameworks
+ Experience with programming languages such as Python, Bash, Ruby or other related languages
+ Background in COTS/FOSS product installation, configuration, and integration
+ Experience taking a fully on-prem system and moving toward a Virtualized solution
+ Requires current CompTIA Sec+ (or equivalent) Certification

The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
