Global Risk and Controls Technology (GRCT) within Global Functions Technology(GFT) supports global functions partners such as Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), Independent Compliance Risk Management (ICRM), Retail Credit Risk, Operational Risk, and Model Risk. Enterprise Risk Management covers Risk Identification, Risk Measurement, Appetite and Limits, Risk Analytics, New Activity Risk Management, Risk Framework and Policy, and Enterprise Risk Management Governance.

AI/ML architects apply artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to Citi’s problems, systems, and business processes. These professionals must have deep knowledge of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and natural language processing architecture and engineering, in concert with concepts. AI architects must also understand AI integration and AI application programming. Previous experience as an AI engineer is highly valued. The ideal candidate will have experience in developing AI/ML architecture vision, strategy, and end to end solutions for three-year roadmaps. The role will have a regional and global focus in the GRCT space and requires the individual to work across multiple lines of business.

Responsibilities:

+ Designing, implementing, and maintaining secure and stable AI/ML solutions using leading AI technology frameworks

+ Define the technical roadmap for improving the quality and performance in LLMs and generative models, ensuring alignment with business objectives.

+ Aligning AI/ML use cases with business strategies and key performance indicators and other metrics

+ Working closely and lead software engineers to build new applications to run on AI/ML platforms

+ Monitoring current and future trends and advancements in AI, machine learning, and other emerging technologies

+ Provide vision for relevant technology systems, including those that support enterprise risk management and independent compliance applications, ensuring that engineers use blueprints, architecture, patterns, and design.

+ Develops architecture, strategy, planning, and problem-solving solutions for Citi

+ Explore and prototype novel techniques in generative AI/AI/ML including fine-tuning, reinforcement learning with various of reward strategies, transfer learning, and multimodal alignment.

+ Interfaces across several channels, acting as a visionary to proactively assist in defining direction for future projects.

+ Depending on project scope, may be accountable for end-to-end results including such items as: budgeting, policy formulation as well as providing future state technology strategies for an effort.

+ Interfaces with vendors to assess their technology and to guide their product roadmap based on Citi requirements.

+ Exhibits in-depth knowledge of how own specialism contributes to the business and has a good understanding of the commercial environment.

+ Provides thought leadership in subjects that are key to the business.

+ Requires sophisticated analytical thought to resolve issues in a variety of complex situations.

+ Uses developed communication skills to negotiate and often at higher levels.

Qualifications:

+ 10+ year’s senior technology leadership experience in an engineering and/or architecture capacity.

+ At least 5 years of in a Solutions Architecture role in a large enterprise environment.

+ Banking/Financial/Payment particularly in risk and control experience is a plus.

+ Expertise in developing architecture vision and strategic solutions.

+ Familiarity with software engineering best-practices such as version control, testing, code reviews.

+ Understanding of advanced calculations and statistical functions.

+ A solid understanding of SQL, relational database management system, artificial intelligence, machine learning, data modeling, and normalization

+ Masters, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, or Computer Engineering; similarly related fields, or comparable professional experience

+ Experience with deep learning frameworks

+ Experience with natural language processing

+ Proficiency in generative artificial intelligence and machine learning

+ 15+ years in machine learning, with at least 2 years of experience in LLMs, diffusion models, or other generative models

+ Experience in model building, model parallelism, and deployment of large-scale generative models

+ Experience with Gemini, R2D2, PaLM2 Embedding, PGVector, Python, Artifactory, GitHub, RAG systems, , LLMs, Java, Javascript.

+ Knowledge of techniques such as quantization, distillation, and efficient inference. Experience with deploying large ML models in real world products

+ Strong background in conducting experiments, analyzing results, and iterating on model improvements.

+ Ability to work with various teams but also independently

+ Strong communication skills

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:

$176,720.00 - $265,080.00
