    Job Overview

     

    The internship will be based in our Warrendale, PA office. During the internship you will be part of the team responsible for developing core Embedded Control, Human Machine Interface, and Data Management software for underground mining applications.

     

    Key Job Responsibilities

     

    As an Embedded Control Software Intern, you will specialize and contribute to the development of core embedded software for products that operate globally. You will get exposure to developing software for underground machines such as continuous miners, long wall etc.

     

    Key skills that you will further enhance during your internship with us are (i) real-time embedded open loop and closed loop machine control using hydraulic and electrical actuators and various position sensors, (ii) working with real-time operating systems such as VxWorks, Windows Embedded, and Linux, (iii) familiarity with various development and test environments including bench testing, 3D simulation, and factory floor testing on actual machinery.

    Qualifications/Requirements

    • Currently pursuing Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering

    • Currently pursuing Master of Science degree in Control Systems Development, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering

    • Proven strengths in embedded and networked systems and software development

    • Strong programming skills in C and Java
