    Summary This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. These responsibilities include program development, assessment, monitoring, and provision of direct evidence-based interventions for Veterans who experience and/or use intimate partner violence and/or sexual assault. Other duties include providing VA staff and community training, education, and outreach; resource development; continuous quality improvement activities; and evaluation/consultation. The incumbent must have strong verbal and writing skills and ability to contribute to the development of strategic planning for local action plans. The IPVAPC will oversee program implementation and project management and ensure that data and reports are provided in a timely manner. The incumbent is primarily based in the medical center and/or facility to support real time, in person, response to referrals. Major duties and responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to: The IPVAPC will develop, execute, monitor, and report on the measures related to VHA Directive 1198. The IPVAPC ensures compliance and collaboration with local facility and the directive and may also be responsible for VA Central Office Megabus Pilot Project initiatives as applicable. The incumbent oversees facility needs and program assessments to assist in the development of action plans related to fulfilling the requirements of VHA Directive 1198 and the Megabus pilot program as applicable. The IPVAPC will develop and administer information and analytical systems to evaluate and enhance the quality of service provided to Veterans, families, Caregivers and VA employees impacted by intimate partner violence or sexual violence. The IPVAPC also develops, implements, and evaluates clinical guidelines and protocols to establish appropriate utilization of services. The incumbent participates in direct Veteran, family, Caregiver, and VA employee contacts to identify and assess risk, safety, supports and the development and application of directed clinical treatment interventions. The IVPAPC creates educational tools, develops programs, and implements training focused on specific IPV and SV (sexual violence) needs/issues. The IVPAPC provides education and in-service training to VAMC (VA Medical Center) employees, Veterans, families, and Caregivers. The incumbent serves as a consultant and advocate for helping staff understand the complex issues faced by Veterans, their families, caregivers, and their intimate partners who are impacted by intimate partner violence or sexual assault when seeking care from VA and other government and community agencies. Graduates of schools of social work that are in candidacy status do not meet this requirement until the School of Social Work is fully accredited. A doctoral degree in social work may not be substituted for the master's degree in social work. Licensure: Persons hired or reassigned to social worker positions in the GS-0185 series in VHA must be licensed or certified by a state to independently practice social work at the master's degree level. Grade Determinations: In addition to the basic requirements for employment, the following criteria must be met when determining the grade of candidates. Social Worker (Program Coordinator), GS 12 Experience and Education. One year of experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level. Experience must demonstrate possession of advanced practice skills and judgment, demonstrating progressively more professional competency. Candidate may have certification or other post-master's degree training from a nationally recognized professional organization or university that includes a defined curriculum/course of study and internship, or equivalent supervised professional experience. Licensure/Certification. Individuals assigned as social worker program coordinator must be licensed or certified at the advanced practice level, and must be able to provide supervision for licensure. Demonstrated Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities. In addition to the experience above, the candidate must demonstrate all of the following KSAs: Knowledge of program coordination and administration which includes consultation, negotiation, and monitoring. Knowledge and ability to write policies, procedures, and/or practice guidelines for the program. Ability to supervise multidisciplinary staff assigned to the program. Skill in organizing work, setting priorities, meeting multiple deadlines, and evaluating assigned program area(s). Ability to provide training, orientation, and guidance within clinical practice. Physical Requirements: Must be in overall good health. Social Worker must be able to perform primarily light and sedentary duties including sitting at a desk working at a computer.
