This position is located within the Womack Army Medical Center (Dept. of Nursing) located at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

+ Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.

+ Advanced in hire may be authorized.

This is an employed civilian Nurse (Clinical) position that affords job security, a competitive base salary, bonuses, moving expenses, full malpractice coverage, up to 26 days paid vacation, 11 days paid Federal Holidays, a sick leave benefit, CME opportunities, and a first-class health and retirement benefit package.

Named after Medal of Honor recipient, PFC Bryant H. Womack, we are a fully accredited 110-bed, evidenced-based regional medical center and GME facility serving Fort Bragg, the home of Airborne and Special Operations and the largest U.S. Army installation in the world. We manage several outstanding Primary Care practice sites located in Fort Bragg, Fayetteville, Hope Mills, and Linden Oaks.

Womack is located in Fayetteville, Fort Bragg which is 2 hours from the beach and 5 hours from the Appalachian Mountains with easy access to I-95 and all points north and south. This central North Carolina location enjoys seasonably palatable weather year-round. Many facilities and services are offered such as first class golfing venues and renowned universities, a skeet range, riding stables, ice skating rink, state-of-the-art fitness centers, daycare, star-quality dining, full service banking, convenience shop, barbershop, and florist.

Responsibilities

As a Nurse (Clinical) you will:

+ Performs as the Clinical Nurse Specialist for the Maternal Child Health Section, serving as the subject matter expert for inpatient services in the women's health arena.

+ Provides care directly by teaching and providing direct nursing care or indirectly through recommendations for care to the primarily nurse/other health professional.

+ Participates in discharge planning teams, clinical pathway development and implementation.

+ Serves as a member of multiple interdisciplinary teams/committees (internally and externally) in the conduct of performance improvement, patient safety, risk management, and accreditation activities.

+ Serves as a resource person to a wide variety of professional health colleagues regarding nursing practice.

+ Assists nursing personnel to achieve greater effectiveness in the nursing process by means of scheduled ward in-services, patient care conferences, and assisting in the development of nursing care plans.

+ Supports and facilitates the implementation and compliance to standards established for performance improvement, patient safety, care management, utilization management, and credentialing.

Qualifications

US Citizen Required

Registered Nurse

Degree or diploma from a professional nursing program approved by the legally designated State accrediting agency at the time the program was completed by the applicant.

Active, current registration as a professional nurse in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.

All Health Care Providers must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) Training and certification that is sponsored or endorsed by the American Heart Association (AHA). Current Advanced Life Support or other advanced certification does not supersede BLS completion.
