    What we want

     

    The Program Coordinator II is responsible for providing professional and specialized skills for planning, developing, implementing, and managing departmental programs for students and former students, as well as staff training and development activities for staff members. Serves on committees and task forces as scheduled and supervises a graduate student or intern.

    Position Details: Occasional work beyond regular business hours for constituent meetings and programs.

    Responsibilities

    Program Planning, Implementation, and Evaluation:

    + Plans, implements, and evaluates department programs.

    + Coordinates an annual domestic travel program for students. This position will accompany students, along with one or more other staff members, for the duration of travel.

    + Collaborates with others to create new and expanded programs , including the coordination of at least one fall and one spring department event with a focus of engaging with former students of the department, inclusive of events in cities outside of Bryan/College Station.

    + Assists in establishing goals and strategic planning for events and programs under purview.

    + Responsible for all logistics of events including advertisement, participant selection, risk management, evaluation, budget management, and development efforts.

    Staff Supervision, Training, and Development:

    + May supervise program support staff.

    + Develops, delivers, and evaluates training and training materials for departmental staff including New Staff Orientations, staff retreats, and staff workdays.

    + Participates on various university and division standing and ad hoc committees as assigned and assumes responsibility for specific projects for the Department and/or Division of Student Affairs as requested.

    Program Budget Oversight:

    + Oversees daily fiscal management and purchasing activities related to assigned programs and events.

    + Assists in identifying funding opportunities.

    Stakeholder Relationship Management:

    + Develops and maintains relationships with stakeholders.

    + R esponsible for strong communications, including written, verbal, and interpersonal, with former students and current or potential donors.

    + Provides assistance and support to enhance and improve the effectiveness of former student engagement activities for MSC Programs.

    + Partners with the DSA Development Office and/or the Texas A&M Foundation for program and donor assistance, as needed.

    Reporting and Documentation:

    + Prepares reports on program activities.

    + Supports the department strategic planning efforts, inclusive of documenting progress and providing leadership for certain priorities.

    + Provides supplemental support for the department’s assessment efforts.

    Qualifications:

    Required Education & Experience:

    + Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    + Four years of related experience.

    Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    + Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

    + Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.

    + Verbal and written communication skills.
