Description: An IT Applications Engineer position in Cincinnati, OH 45215 is currently available at Belcan. This is a full-time, direct job with full benefits. In a fast paced and secure environment, the Applications Engineer reviews new and existing software for environmental fit, creates plans for application implementation, and works with deployment engineers to execute those plans. The ideal candidate will be able to review, test, improve and communicate findings in a constantly changing environment.

*Must be a US citizen and have a current CompTIA Security + CE certification, or equivalent, or be able to obtain one upon being hired. Candidates considered must also possess a Secret level security clearance or be able obtain one upon being hired*

*Must also be able to pass a drug test*

Summary of Responsibilities:

* Application Review: Determine risks, dependencies, costs, and execution path for the implementation of requested software.

* Engineering Application Testing: Install, test, document, and transfer.

* Process Improvement

* Task Automation

Technical Experience Requirements:

* 4-6 years Windows and Linux administration experience

* 4-6 years administering relational databases

* Proficiency in security tools such as Nessus, SEP and Splunk

* Foundational knowledge of object-oriented programming languages.

* Experience in .NET and Java

* Hands-on experience writing basic scripts in bash, PowerShell, Visual Basic, or Python.

* Networking - Foundational

* Understanding of networking core concepts such as VLAN tagging, routing vs switching, subnetting, etc.

* Familiarity with ITIL, NIST, and RMF Frameworks

Non-Technical Skills

* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment in a team-oriented setting.

* Ability to orally and verbally communicate technical information at a level appropriate to the target audience.

* Ability to prioritize projects, manage time, and organize tasks based on delivery expectations, complexity, and business importance.

* Ability to understand and follow all rules that govern working in a classified environment.

We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering a salary range of $105,000 to $115,000 annually. Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline.
