    GA Family Services - Family Resource Coordinator Reports To: Program Manager

     

    Job Type: This full-time position provides 40 hours/weekly and requires flexibility to meet the needs of the families we serve

     

    Salary Range: $21.50 to $31.58 per hour, commensurate with degree obtained and experience

     

    Purpose: The Family Resource Coordinator is responsible for the recruiting, certifying/licensing, training, and retaining of treatment families.

    Qualifications:

    MSW and two (2) years clinical/related experience preferred. Bachelor’s Degree in related field with relevant experience considered. Any deviations from these requirements must have a waiver approved by the OCFS. Valid NYS Driver’s License required.

     

    Please note: Although this position is based out of our West Seneca location, occasional travel to our Jamestown office is required.

    Job Description:

    + Development and implementation of a marketing plan to increase public awareness of, and interest in TFC program

    + Placing advertisements in accordance with the marketing plan in a variety of appropriate publications such as newspapers, shopping guides, etc.

    + Availability to accept telephone calls from potential applicants.

    + Assuring that appointments are set with all perspective treatment families within (3) three working days of the initial telephone contact.

    + Assuring expedience in processing of all application components as required by state regulation and GA policy.

    + Maintaining records to track: ads placed, advertising source utilized and their cost, number of calls generated by individual ads, number of calls entertained, total number of homes visited and their location, number of applications received, number of homes approved and their locations, and management of the Family Resource Department budget.

    + Generation of treatment family referrals from currently approved families through the use of newsletters, discussion at trainings, and other creative techniques.

    + Creation of public awareness through public speaking, involvement in community events and other advertising techniques.

    + Participation in the assessment, orientation, licensing/certification and training of families.

    + Establishing and maintaining a family training program to develop skills.

    + Developing/presenting training topics which maintain treatment family interest in GA and foster parenting.

    + Arranging for qualified speakers/presenters knowledgeable in relevant topic areas, using GA staff whenever possible.

    + Developing and implementing a plan focusing on the recruitment and retention of treatment families.

    + Development and implementation of a marketing plan on a quarterly basis.

    + Perform other tasks and duties as assigned by supervisor.

    + As regulations and programmatic changes occur, responsibilities may change to meet these needs and requirements.

    GAFS Organizational Responsibilities:

    + Engages in regular supervision with own supervisor, including scheduled evaluations

    + Actively participates in all in-service programs and scheduled meetings during your on-days

    + Maintains ongoing and open communication with team members and promotes relationships of trust and respect with residents and staff

    + Fulfills obligations inherent in the major systems of the GAFS and the LSS Human Resources Policies

    + Demonstrates a commitment to organizational and department goals

    + Shares positive and negative information directly with team members and confronts others; to utilize the organizational chain of command

    + Practices good listening skills and communicates well both in writing and verbally

    + Demonstrates personal and professional ethics, attitudes and value systems which enhance team functioning and to abide by the Standards of Confidentiality

    + Upholds child and family rights as outlined in State Office of Child and Family Services mandates and GAFS procedures
