GA Family Services - Hybrid Caseworker (Therapeutic Foster Care/Regional Permanency Center)
Reports To: Foster Care Supervisor
Position Status: Full-Time (40-hours per week)
Position Schedule: T he standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 10:30am-7pm, with evening hours, as needed
Salary Range: $20.50 to $30.24 per hour, commensurate with degree obtained and experience
Purpose: The responsibilities of this position will be split between our Regional Permanency Center (RPC) and our Therapeutic Foster Care (TFC) programs. The OCFS grant-funded Regional Permanency program is designed to provide quality case management and support services to children, post adoption families, and post guardianship families residing in the following counties: Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, Erie, Wyoming and Niagara. Our Therapeutic Foster Care program is responsible for the planning and implementation of the direct treatment and overall management of clients on their assigned caseload.
Qualifications:
Master's Degree and two (2) years clinical/related experience preferred.
Bachelor's Degree in related with relevant experience will be considered.
Any deviations from these requirements must have a waiver approved by OCFS.
Must have own transportation, a valid driver’s license, and vehicle insurance as required by NYS law.
Job Duties:
+ Participate in the pre-admission screening of all client referrals in TFC and RPC.
+ Participate in the placement procedure for all clients TFC and RPC.
+ Participate as a member of the interdisciplinary team.
+ Participate in the development and ongoing maintenance of the client records.
+ Attend regularly scheduled meetings with the client to help in the resolution of problems, to enhance interpersonal skills, and to reinforce the work of, and adjustment to the treatment family.
+ Attend regularly scheduled meetings with the treatment families to teach, motivate, supervise and reinforce their work with the clients.
+ Act as advocates and liaison for TFC and RPC clients with other professional service providers in the community.
+ Preparation and completion of all reports, statistical information and other file requirements as per agency policy and state mandated regulations.
+ Participates in the ongoing development of and preparation in training for treatment families.
+ Assists in marketing programs to referring agencies.
+ Intervention in crisis or conflict situations in the treatment family homes assigned, moving towards the resolution of problems and redefining new goals.
+ Participation in the on-call rotation.
+ Participation in ongoing training as indicated by state regulations.
+ Perform other tasks and duties as assigned by supervisor.
+ As regulations and programmatic changes occur responsibilities may change to meet these needs and requirements.
+ Safety – Follows required safety procedures.
+ In-services – Attends all required in-service training.
GAFS Organizational Responsibilities:
+ Actively participates as part of the interdisciplinary treatment team for assigned youth and to assist in coordinating and monitoring services that are tailored to the needs of the youth.
+ Engages in regular supervision with own supervisor, including scheduled evaluations.
+ Actively participates in all in-service programs and scheduled meetings
+ Maintains ongoing and open communication with team members and promotes relationships of trust and respect with clients, families, customers, and staff.
+ Responsible for emergency on-call coverage, as scheduled
+ Fulfills obligations inherent in the major system of the GACFS and the LSS Personnel policies.
+ Demonstrates a commitment to organizational and department goals.
+ Shares positive and negative information directly with team members and confronts others; to utilize the organizational chain of command.
+ Practices good listening skills and communicates well both in writing and verbally.
+ Demonstrates personal and professional ethics, attitudes and value systems which enhance team functioning and to be abide by the Standards of Confidentiality.
+ Upholds child and family rights as outlined in State Office of Child and Family Services mandates and GACFS procedures.
