[Montana Department of Justice] *Department Overview:* The*Department of Justice*is an executive branch agency headed by Attorney General Austin Knudsen, and its mission is to pursue activities and programs that ensure the safety and well-being of Montana’s citizens. The Department is organized into eight divisions consisting of approximately 900 employees and includes: The Montana Highway Patrol, Motor Vehicle Division, Legal Services, Gambling Control, Division of Criminal Investigation, Forensic Science Division, the Central Services Division and the Montana Law Enforcement Academy. ** *Job Overview:** * Through the leadership of Attorney General Austin Knudsen, the Montana Department of Justice is committed to supporting its dedicated staff. This new*_Chaplaincy Program_*will offer comprehensive mental and spiritual health resources to ensure the resiliency and strength of our workforce who serve Montana citizens and protect and defend our cherished Montana way of life. Selected chaplains located throughout the state will provide chaplaincy services including but not limited to, * Call out and response to critical incident scenes to assist DOJ law enforcement divisions, including but not limited to the Montana Highway Patrol, Division of Criminal Investigation, and the Prosecution Services Bureau. * Be available to all DOJ staff for mental and spiritual health needs and help provide access to resources. * Attend and participate in a variety of DOJ events such as academy graduations and other employee and public ceremonies. * Serve on the DOJ chaplain program committee and contribute to the launch, growth, and efficiency of the program. * Submit required paperwork for payment and reimbursement for services rendered. * Attend continual education and training for chaplains. * Maintain a high level of confidentiality with sensitive personal and criminal information. * Chaplains will be paid for call outs, employee assistance, event services including training and committee meetings, vehicle milage and hotel expenses when needed. The following payments will be provided to a Chaplain in response to a call request: (Subject to change) * $250: Called out to an incident * $50: Employee Consult (employee reaches out for help and needs to be pointed toward resources.) * $100: Special events, training, attending quarterly meetings, etc. /This position is contracted with the Montana Department of Justice and is not be eligible for state benefits. / *Minimum**Qualifications:* * Clean criminal and personal history. * Valid MT Driver’s License and reliable transportation. * Experience as a chaplain or clergy. A combination of experience and education may be considered.* * *Preferred Qualifications:* * Degree in a related field and/or chaplain certification. * Experience with law enforcement and military personnel. * Experience providing training to small and large groups. * Comfortable with public speaking. * Currently certified Chaplains preferred but not required. *Special Instructions*: The selection procedures to be used in evaluating the applicant's qualification may include, but are not limited to, an evaluation of the resume, a structured interview, performance test, academic transcripts, reference/background checks and fingerprint checks.
