    *_Position Summary:_*

     

    The Medical Laboratory Technologist performs blood collections and other specimens using aseptic technique.

     

    *_Training and Continued Education_*

    *_Minimum Education_*

    * Has earned an associate degree in laboratory science or medical Laboratory technology from an accredited institution; and have at least one year of laboratory training or experience, or both, in high Complexity testing; or

    * Achieved a satisfactory grade as a medical technologist in a proficiency examination approved by HHS, and after qualifying as a laboratory technologist has had at least one year of pertinent full-time laboratory experience; or

    * Has earned a bachelor degree in chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution; and have at least one year of laboratory training or experience, or both, in high complexity testing.

    * BLS preferred.
