DIVISION STATEMENT
The Commercial Flight Controls Division, headquartered in beautiful Ogden Utah is a global leader in aerospace flight controls.
We are the preferred supplier of flight control solutions for the commercial, regional, business jet and advanced air mobility marketplace by offering a premier customer experience with superior engineered products that exceed our customer and regulatory requirements.
We’ve broken ground with more-electric technology and electromechanical flight control systems. Looking ahead we’re further improving flight control actuation for traditional and advanced air mobility (AAM) aircraft with new technologies and manufacturing advancements.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Engineering Tech I is responsible for performing a variety of engineering technical duties with minimal supervision. This role requires a high degree of accuracy in testing, mechanical operations, and customer support functions. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in lab equipment operation, data analysis, and technical maintenance, ensuring compliance with specifications and enhancing customer satisfaction.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Testing Processes:
+ Review incoming lab requests to determine test requirements, applying general knowledge to independently set up tests.
+ Complete all necessary testing documentation, equipment setup, and data capture.
+ Perform post-test analysis and prepare final test report datasheets based on specification requirements.
+ Demonstrate a working knowledge of various specifications and ensure compliance.
Mechanical:
+ Conduct quality-related lab tests and data acquisition.
+ Operate lab equipment, including titration, particulate count, tensile, and computerized test systems as applicable.
Customer Support:
+ Perform technical maintenance on a variety of laboratory equipment.
+ Plan and coordinate requests from customers, generating reports on technical product or service problems and results.
+ Review performance trends, reports, and documentation; recommend corrective actions as necessary.
+ Maintain and analyze detailed performance and maintenance service records.
+ Instruct customers on the operation and proper use of equipment, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
All Specialties:
+ Proficiently utilize all lab and test equipment.
+ Maintain up-to-date qualification data and daily logbooks for each project.
+ Recommend new techniques, systems, procedures, and preventative maintenance to improve overall efficiency.
+ Make recommendations for the purchase and/or use of equipment.
+ Interface with employees from other functional areas, including design engineering, process manufacturing, and quality assurance.
+ Assist less experienced personnel and demonstrate the ability to learn from more experienced team members.
+ Perform other related responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
+ High School Diploma or equivalent
+ Four years of related experience, trade or military training, or a strong understanding and demonstrated ability to perform the described responsibilities.
+ Demonstrated ability to read engineering drawings, sketches, schematics and procedures.
Technical Skills:
+ Ability to read engineering drawings, sketches, schematics, and procedures.
+ Advanced knowledge of hydraulic and electromechanical actuation systems is a plus.
+ Familiarity with aerospace flight control systems is a plus.
+ Basic PC and electronic console skills where applicable.
+ Ability to perform mathematical calculations.
TYPICAL MENTAL AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
+ Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50lbs as needed
+ Capable of standing for extended periods during testing and equipment operation.
