Jacobs is seeking a mid- to senior-level Wildlife Crossing Engineer who can provide support for public and private sector infrastructure projects throughout the US.

Together, our team helps deliver some of the most exciting and transformative infrastructure projects in the region, from wildlife crossings to fish passages, wetland and stream mitigation to sustainability initiatives, and more; this is your opportunity to act as a technical support resource specialist in the field of engineering. Work will include managing projects, leading teams of specialists, and performing both office and field work.
Duties will include project/task management, fieldwork, interagency/interdisciplinary coordination, business development, and opportunities to build a team and mentor staff. You’ll also have the flexibility afforded to all Jacobs employees to continue growing your career in the direction you choose, even as you deliver critical project work.
Key responsibilities of this position include:
* Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams of engineers, scientists, planners, and other professionals to develop project approvals and designs.
* Supporting proposal preparation, client relationships, and business development activities.
* Preparing scopes of work and estimating level of effort for task completion.
* Acting as a project manager and lead engineer on projects.
* Maintaining excellent communication with clients, regulatory agencies, local government officials, employees, and subcontractors.
* Providing management support and fostering the career growth of junior-level environmental staff.
* Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
* Engineer in Training (EIT) required, or FE exam passed is acceptable.
* At least 4 years of previous professional engineering roadway design and geometrics experience.
* Previous Department of Transportation (DOT), county, or municipal experience.
* Strong Civil 3D or MicroStation/OpenRoads background.
* Ability to work with a multidisciplinary team.
* Light duties in project management and/or transportation engineering experience on projects that include fish and/or wildlife crossings and ecological connectivity.
Ideally, you’ll also have
* Professional Engineer License (PE).
* Interest in wildlife crossings and ecological connectivity engineering.
* Prior experience on local, state, and/or federal projects.
* Strong mathematical, analytical, and time management skills.
* Experience with roadway design and/or structural design and developing other roadway components incorporated into a set of construction plans.
