    This position will be based in Kansas City, MO and requires regular travel within your assigned territory. Occasional travel to company sites may be required as needed.

     

    Join Our Team as a Business Development Manager - Mega at Gallo!

     

    We are seeking a passionate and results-driven individual to execute sales plans and maximize revenue for the Gallo spirits portfolio in both retail and on-premise outlets. In this role, you will manage product sales through the distributor sales network across assigned states, serving as the Gallo brand representative for retail and on-premise accounts and distributors. Your primary goal is to maintain strong business relationships and implement effective selling techniques to increase Gallo product sales.

     

    You will strategically focus your time on the biggest opportunities to grow Gallo brands, making informed decisions based on market data and pricing mechanics. Collaborating closely with distributor management, you will ensure the execution of annual sales plans, evaluate market conditions, and hold sales managers accountable for implementing Gallo programs.

     

    Your responsibilities will include developing and presenting pricing and forecasts, participating in the annual planning process, and coordinating the launch of new items. You will manage POS ordering, conduct sales training, and lead product tastings for on-premise and retail accounts. Additionally, you will gather and analyze market intelligence, establish objectives, and promote positive working relationships across the organization and distributor network.

    What You Will Need:

    + Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of Gallo winery sales, marketing, or affiliated or non-affiliated distributor sales experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Bachelor’s degree plus 6 years of wine or spirits sales, marketing, restaurant/hospitality, or distributor experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR High School Diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 10 years of Gallo winery sales, marketing, or affiliated or non-affiliated distributor sales experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 12 years of wine or spirits sales, marketing, restaurant/hospitality or distributor experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.

    + Candidate is required to have a valid driver’s license, a safe driving record and reliable vehicle (if applicable) at the time of hire. This position will undergo a motor vehicle check (MVR) to confirm a history of safe and responsible driving. If needed, candidate must obtain the appropriate state driver’s license based on the position’s location within 30 days of hire.

    + Required to be 21 years of age or older.

    + Required to obtain liquor license as required by state/locality.

    + Required to travel by air and automobile up to 50% during the course of business.

    + Required to see, taste, and smell wine and perform product tastings as part of job functions.

    + Experience demonstrating strong leadership selling, time management, public speaking skills.

    + Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.

    What You Will Set You Apart:

    + Bachelor's degree plus 6 years of Gallo winery or distributor sales experience to include a prior rotation as a Portfolio Consultant, Business Development Manager, Program Manager Sales-LDP, Business Intelligence Manager or Account Manager 2; OR Bachelor's degree plus 8 years of external alcohol sales experience to include on-premise experience.

    + Direct managerial/supervisory experience with sales, retail, or on-premise employees (e.g. District Manager, Area Manager, State Manager, Field Marketing manager, etc.)

    + Experience with selling or marketing Gallo products.

    Compensation:

    + Hiring salary range posted: $120,510 - $200,900 / year

    + Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
