Job Description:
The Student Innovation Center is seeking qualified candidates for a Media Production Specialist I or II who will provide leadership, supervision, customer service, and technical support for developing creative content and production services in the following areas:
Digital Media Studio – Media production and editing facilities, including equipment and technologies such as Behringer sound boards, Black Magic cameras, studio lighting, studio/podcasting audio, Extron AV, Mac and PC computers, green screen, SAN server, Adobe Creative Cloud, Pro Tools, and DaVinci Resolve editing programs, Sony photo camera and lens, and inventory and device management programs.
The Media Production Specialist position will create engaging, welcoming workspaces and ensure safe, hands-on experiences for users of the studio. This position will create, edit, and maintain video and audio production for the center and provide technical support for users’ efforts in projects and initiatives. The person in this role will provide media production services and instruction, operate digital media equipment, recommend cutting-edge technologies, and offer resources in the Digital Media Studio.
The successful candidate is a self-starter, exhibits attention to detail, and has excellent project management, problem solving, leadership, and communication skills. The successful candidate also has the knowledge, skills, and abilities to be the subject matter expert on the use of all media, equipment, and technologies in the Digital Media Studio. The ability to contribute and function in a team-oriented environment is needed to be successful. The person in this role should enjoy working with students and be enthusiastic about media production. All staff members are expected to interact professionally and maintain the highest standards of integrity and ethics.

Additional Information: The position’s schedule is Wednesday - Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. with two 30-minute breaks at noon and 5:30 p.m. This position also provides support for events, as well as building support when needed.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an on-going basis without sponsorship.
Level I/II Example of Duties• Establishes production standards and evaluates production requirements.• Consults with clients to determine media production needs.• Advises clients on design, development, and use of media.• Develops storyboards, scripts, and visuals.• Operates a variety of equipment in production of media projects.• Shoots videos and photos, which may include live events.• Edits content using a variety of software.• Creates animation, graphics, and other digital content for productions.• Prepares cost estimates, budgets and reports.• May supervise students.Level Guidelines• Individual contributor position with developing professional and/or technical skills working under immediate to general supervision• Grasps professional-level knowledge and concepts of field while working in a progressive learning mode• Works on problems and issues of somewhat limited scope• Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data for which answers are available or can be obtained• Responds to inquiries and issues, escalating to manager or higher level workers as appropriate• May lead projects of limited scope and complexity• May provide guidance to students
