Description
We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Staff Accountant in a vibrant city in California. The selected individual will be part of a dynamic team, tasked with various accounting responsibilities, including maintaining accurate credit records, processing customer credit applications, and resolving inquiries. Responsibilities:
+ Ensures compliance with all cash handling policies
+ Reconciles and analyzes various balance sheet accounts
+ Reviews and interprets financial results for internal and external stakeholders
+ Maintains and monitors monthly profit/loss statements and balance sheet activity
+ Supports budget and forecast preparation; assesses financial risks and opportunities
+ Examines general ledger entries and balance sheets for accuracy
+ Troubleshoots accounting and reconciliation discrepancies
+ Prepares and distributes monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including audits and fiscal close
+ Manages inventory and oversees cost control practices
+ Monitors accounts receivable and pursues overdue collections
+ Submits subsidy invoices with required documentation for payment
+ Addresses client inquiries and concerns
+ Ensures adherence to contractual agreements
+ Serves as an accounting advisor to management and bookkeepers
+ Assists in financial oversight across the district
+ Provides administrative support for payroll and HR functions when needed
+ Handles additional responsibilities and special projects as assigned
Requirements
+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred; equivalent experience accepted
+ 3–5 years of experience in revenue control, financial reporting, and cash handling
+ Background in accounting within the foodservice or retail industry; foodservice operations experience is a plus
+ Proficient in preparing financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and key performance reports
+ Strong ability to plan, organize, and manage complex financial processes
+ Familiarity with POS systems and handling cash and credit card reporting
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills
+ Effective at managing multiple tasks and maintaining strong working relationships
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
+ Strong analytical thinking and organizational abilities
+ Capable of multitasking and adapting to a fast-paced environment
+ Demonstrates high personal integrity and ethical standards
