Our client in Carlsbad is seeking a Senior Accountant to oversee financial operations and provide critical insights into property management and investment portfolios.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Manage general ledger accounting for multiple real estate entities, including property revenue, expenses, and consolidated reporting.

+ Analyze real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, and lease accounting under ASC 842.

+ Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for ownership and investment partners.

+ Lead budgeting and forecasting efforts, identifying variances and creating actionable recommendations.

+ Ensure proper compliance with tax requirements, including REIT regulations and property tax filings.

+ Liaise with external auditors to support annual audits and reporting requirements.

Requirements

+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA license highly desirable.

+ 3-5+ years accounting experience, with strong exposure to real estate accounting and lease operations.

+ Advanced knowledge of Excel and proficiency with property accounting software (e.g., Yardi, MRI).

+ Strong understanding of GAAP, including familiarity with real estate-specific guidelines like ASC 842.

+ Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to handle complexity in a multi-entity structure.
