    Description

    Robert Half is currently recruiting for a reliable and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Bookkeeper for a property management company located in La Jolla, CA. This temporary-to-hire opportunity is ideal for someone with strong AP experience and a background in AppFolio who is looking to join a growing, team-oriented office. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of property accounting and the ability to handle a high volume of AP transactions across multiple entities and properties.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Perform full-cycle accounts payable processing, including data entry, invoice matching, coding, batching, and payment preparation

    + Reconcile vendor statements and resolve billing discrepancies in a timely manner

    + Maintain vendor records and ensure compliance with W-9 and insurance requirements

    + Monitor due dates and ensure timely payments via check, ACH, or wire transfer

    + Assist with month-end close procedures, including AP accruals and account reconciliations

    + Utilize AppFolio daily for invoice processing, payment tracking, and property-specific financial tasks

    + Communicate with property managers, vendors, and other stakeholders to resolve AP-related issues

    + Support general accounting tasks, such as journal entries, bank reconciliations, and expense reporting as needed

    Requirements

    Qualifications:

    + Minimum of 2–3 years of recent experience in Accounts Payable, preferably within a property management or real estate environment

    + Proficiency with AppFolio property management software is preferred, or something simillar like MRI/Yardi

    + Strong understanding of AP workflows, vendor management, and basic accounting principles

    + High degree of accuracy and attention to detail

    + Excellent organizational and time management skills

    + Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

    + Strong communication and interpersonal skills

    Preferred Experience:

    + Multi-entity or multi-property accounting experience

    + Familiarity with 1099 processing and CAM reconciliations

    + Experience with Microsoft Excel (basic formulas, pivot tables, and VLOOKUPs)
