Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented Human Resources (HR) Assistant to join our team in Lansing, Michigan. This is a part-time contract position offering flexibility in scheduling while primarily working onsite Monday through Friday. The role combines HR and Business Office tasks, providing support for payroll, benefits administration, and general administrative duties. Ideal candidates will be proactive, tech-savvy, and capable of handling process-driven responsibilities with precision.
Responsibilities:
• Process new employee paperwork and oversee employee onboarding procedures.
• Manage benefits enrollment and ensure accurate data entry into internal systems.
• Coordinate payroll tasks, including mailing paychecks and reconciling expense reports.
• Handle the I-9 process, including Michigan-specific compliance requirements.
• Provide administrative support to both the HR and Business Office teams.
• Utilize organizational software systems to manage HR and payroll data efficiently.
• Track and resolve discrepancies related to reconciliations and expense documentation.
• Assist with employee training sessions and orientations as needed.
• Perform basic auditing and verification processes.
• Collaborate with team members to improve workflows and address anomalies proactively.
Requirements • Proficiency with Ceridian or similar HRMS platforms.
• Strong knowledge of benefits administration and coordination.
• Experience in payroll processing and expense reconciliation.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word.
• Ability to conduct background checks and employee orientations.
• Excellent organizational and administrative skills.
• Strong customer service abilities and attention to detail.
