Job Summary
This position will serve as the first point of contact for visitors. Assists with visiting group registrations, correspondence and logistics. Performs a variety of administrative duties and assists employees with office tasks.
Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities
+ Serves as first point of contact for all matters involving MEC Programs whether through email, on the phone, or in person; and will serve as the liaison for the Marine Education email address.
+ Works with outside groups to arrange all dining, lodging and programming for MEC Programs and facilitates group logistics from initial contact to arrival.
+ Coordinates with department staff on managing all outside groups visitation to the MEC Exhibition Hall on event day.
+ Coordinates with MEC Staff for camp related needs including registration, text reminders, camp enrollment information, and is point of contact for all groups attending camps.
+ Coordinates with GCRL Auxiliary Services for all MEC program setups.
+ Facilitates the virtual component of the GCRL Science Café.
+ Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Associate degree in business, communications or related field and two years of related experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA)
+ Ability to analyze and prepare documents, reports, and correspondence
+ Ability to review work for accuracy
+ Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion
+ Adept in Microsoft Office
+ Excellent written and oral communication skills
+ Ability to communicate with all groups
+ Excellent organization and time management skills
+ Resourceful and determined to provide a positive experience for others
+ Detail-oriented
+ Ability to anticipate needs
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, communications or related field; three years related experience and/or training in office, clerical, or administrative position; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
