Description
Comunilife Inc. is in looking to hire aMarketing and Policy Managerto join itsDevelopment Department. The Marketing and Policy manager plays a vital role in outward facing activities for Comunilife’s programs and services. Under the supervision and guidance of the Vice President of Development and Communications, the Marketing and Policy Manager will be responsible for marketing and communications responsibilities as detailed in the essential functions. The position will be eligible for a hybrid work schedule following a probationary period.This position is eligible for Comunilife's generous benefits and paid time off package.
Essential Duties:
Marketing and Communications Responsibilities:
+ Regularly update and maintain Comunilife’s websites
+ Oversee marketing and communications calendar including the development and posting of social media material (LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram)
+ Liaise with Comunilife program directors to develop a portfolio of client stories and photographs for use in marketing materials, website, and newsletters.
+ Working with outside consultants develop marketing materials, annual report, and brochures
+ Assist with marketing and media activities associated Comunilife events, i.e. ground breakings, ribbon cuttings, fundraising events
+ Support management of press inquiries and event invitations.
+ Collaborate with the Vice President of Development and Communications and Director of Development to prepare PowerPoint decks, Excel models, talking points, and other products for conferences, briefings, and meetings.
Policy Analysis
+ Develop advocacy strategy and priority initiatives in collaboration with VP of Development and Communications.
+ Research and track legislation and budget items relevant to Comunilife’s mission at city, state, and federal levels.
+ Monitor news and stay informed of developments that may impact the organization and its policy work.
+ Author compelling advocacy materials, including reports, memoranda of support, and testimonies.
+ Work together with VP of Development and Communications on dissemination strategy of advocacy materials and to create related social media content.
+ Assist and potentially testify in-person at public hearings before NYC Council and NYS Legislature.
+ Work closely with the Data and Evaluation Department to identify key program statistics, demographic information and other data elements to inform and support advocacy efforts.
+ Develop and implement engagement plan with city, state, and federal elected officials to advance the organization’s advocacy strategy.
+ Manage relationships with key elected officials and appointed agency leaders.
+ Collaborate with the Vice President of Development and Communication on legislative discretionary and capital funding requests.
+ Organize residents, program participants, tenants and staff to advocate for Comunilife’s mission.
+ Help manage engagement of elected and appointed officials in events, including annual symposium, benefit, ribbon cuttings, and groundbreaking ceremonies.
Qualifications
Education and Experience Requirement(s)
+ Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing, or related field
+ Minimum of 2-3 years’ work experience in marketing and communications and public policy
+ Work experience in a non-profit or agency environment preferred
+ Excellent writing, editing, communications skills
+ Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
