    CRST Equipment Solutions keeps our fleet running safely and efficiently through expert sales, maintenance, and service support. The division is made up of specialized teams, each playing a critical role. Internal Maintenance handles repairs and preventative maintenance for company-owned equipment, while Independent Contractor Maintenance provides tailored support for owner-operators. External and Breakdown Maintenance minimizes downtime with roadside assistance and repair partnerships. Corporate Maintenance oversees fleet strategy, cost control, and maintenance programs. Equipment Sales and Purchasing ensures the right equipment is sourced and sold to meet fleet needs. Compliance and Licensing manage regulatory requirements, while Fuel optimizes efficiency and cost control. Together, these teams keep our fleet dependable and ready to serve customers across North America.

    THE POSITION

    **Reporting Structure** : The Vice President – Equipment Solutions reports to the CFO.

    Role and Responsibilities

    The Vice President – Equipment Solutions is a strategic leader responsible for the fleet maintenance function across the organization, ensuring operational efficiency, cost control, and alignment with CRST’s goals. Overseeing a team of 392 employees, including 7 direct reports, this executive manages an $84 million operating budget and a $100 million P&L while leading maintenance strategies for 16,000 assets across 16 locations.

    Key responsibilities include:

    + **Team Leadership** : Guide maintenance directors to deliver efficient, quality-driven maintenance services. Foster team development and collaboration

    + **Fleet Management** : Lead all aspects of fleet maintenance, including preventative maintenance programs, vendor relationships, equipment reliability, and compliance

    + **Vendor Partnerships** : Build and manage strategic relationships with national and regional external maintenance providers to optimize costs and service quality

    + **Operational Excellence** : Analyze maintenance processes, develop and implement SOPs, and drive continuous improvement initiatives

    + **Budget Oversight** : Develop and manage the annual operating budget, ensuring cost efficiency and alignment with strategic goals

    + **Strategic Initiatives** : Collaborate with executive leadership and business units to align maintenance strategies with company goals

    + **P&L Responsibility** : Oversee and manage an $84 million operating budget and a $100 million P&L, driving fiscal responsibility and operational performance

    + **Asset Management** : Direct equipment acquisition, lifecycle management, and the sale/disposal of retired assets

    + **Regulatory Compliance** : Ensure adherence to all maintenance-related safety and compliance standards

    + **Customer Service Focus** : Cultivate a high customer service-oriented culture within the maintenance team, ensuring that customer needs are effectively met

    EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS

    Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred; advanced degree a plus

    + 15+ years of leadership in multi-location maintenance environments

    + 10+ years in Class-8 maintenance management

    + Proven experience managing large-scale P&L responsibilities (minimum $50 million)

    + Experience managing large asset counts (15,000+ assets) and at least 2,000 tractors

    Skills and Expertise:

    + Strong financial and analytical skills with expertise in pricing and cost management

    + Proven experience in talent development and organizational design

    + In-depth knowledge of inventory, parts procurement, and warranty management

    + Vendor negotiation and contract management skills

    + Familiarity with maintenance software (Cetaris preferred)

    Preferred Experience:

    + Leadership in both internal and external maintenance environment

    + Expertise in managing large, distributed teams across multiple sites

    + Strong strategic thinking with a focus on customer service and operational efficiency
