System One is seeking a Drainage Engineer for a direct hire opportunity in Guaynabo Puerto Rico

Position Summary: Seeking a qualified Drainage Engineer to support the design and management of stormwater systems for both public and private infrastructure projects. This role involves performing hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, ensuring regulatory compliance, preparing engineering documentation, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams. The position may also serve as Engineer-of-Record on select tasks and will contribute to quality assurance efforts within the drainage group.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and manage stormwater systems for civil infrastructure projects.

• Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, scour analysis, and drainage tabulations for roadway and transportation-related projects.

• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal stormwater regulations.

• Develop and inspect erosion and sediment control best management practices (BMPs).

• Prepare engineering reports, construction plans (including those adhering to PRHTA standards), and permitting documentation.

• Coordinate closely with internal engineering disciplines and external stakeholders.

• Serve as Engineer-of-Record, when applicable, on assigned tasks.

• Lead quality control and assurance efforts within the drainage team.

• Manage multiple project tasks and deadlines effectively.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.

• Bilingual (Spanish/English)

• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.

• Minimum of 4 years of relevant drainage or roadway engineering experience.

• Proficient in stormwater modeling and analysis software (e.g., HEC-RAS, ICPR, BMPTRAINS, HydroCAD, PondPack).

• Working knowledge of applicable regulatory frameworks.

• Strong design, analytical, and project management skills.

Preferred Requirements:

• Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.

• Ability to obtain PE reciprocity in Puerto Rico within 6 months.

• Experience with infrastructure projects in transportation, bridge hydraulics, or scour analysis.
