    The Project Engineer is responsible for simple to complex utility engineering within Potelco’s distribution and transmission engineering teams . This role incorporates the utilization of various drafting and design programs (PLSCAD/AutoCAD) to create a work product deliverable that meets client standards and specifications . This position is responsible for multiple project designs from client notification and award through project completion .

     

    This pay range for this role is $32-$46/hour, depending on qualifications and expercience .

     

    What You'll Do

     

    + Provides electric utility engineering for operation and maintenance projects. This includes the interpretation and development of distribution designs congruent with utility standards.

    + Perform field work in accordance with utility requirements specific to each customer and different work type.

    + R ead, and understand utility notifications and project scopes of work.

    + I nterpret utility standards manuals (engineering/construction) to field verify, and design utility systems in accordance with utility standards.

    + U tilize AutoCAD to modify and create designs given a specific scope of work for each independent project.

    + Collaborate in a team environment to complete projects.

    + Provides assistance to the utility engineering team by performing field visits to gather information, as required .

    + Active learning and understanding of the work process from inception of job to construction release .

    + Performs and completes other duties as assigned or requested .

     

    What You'll Bring

     

    + Bachelor of Science Degree (BS) in Engineering or three to four years related experience and/or training in lieu of education or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    + Experience utilizing AutoCAD or other 3D modeling programs

    + Ability to be flexible, and highly organized with a strong orientation to detail/quality work

    + Candidate must have working knowledge of the project process from inception to construction completion .

    + Candidate must be able to fully utilize customer systems such as SAP to track and monitor work flow from customer to Potelco.

    + Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals and information, journals, technical procedures, and data.

    + Ability to write business correspondence and communicate effectively.

    + Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from other managers, clients, customers, and local permitting agencies.

    + Ability to calculate figures and amounts, such as those commonly found in business transactions.

    + Ability to create and explain financial models and forecasts.

    + Ability to apply basic algebra, geometry, and engineering principals .

    + Ability to solve complex problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

    + Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

    Compensation Range

     

    The anticipated compensation for this position is USD $32.00/Hr. - USD $46.00/Hr. depending on experience and qualifications.
