Building Maintenance Technician
Job Description
The Building Maintenance Technician is integral in ensuring the safety and functionality of our facilities. This role involves performing routine and extensive preventative maintenance and repairs to maintain efficient operational functionality. Regular inspections and responding to maintenance requests for a variety of building repairs are essential aspects of this position.
Responsibilities
+ Lead routine maintenance and repair tasks in and around the building, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry work.
+ Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to extend the life of building systems and equipment.
+ Conduct regular inspections to identify and address safety hazards, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
+ Schedule and prioritize preventative maintenance assignments on a regular basis.
+ Diagnose and repair building systems and equipment malfunctions promptly to minimize downtime.
+ Maintain an inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies necessary for building maintenance tasks.
+ Respond to emergency maintenance requests promptly, ensuring minimal disruption to building occupants.
+ Record and maintain detailed audit records of maintenance and repair activities, including work orders, materials used, and inspections.
+ Implement and enforce safety protocols for the maintenance team.
+ Generate and present reports on maintenance metrics, equipment status, and resource utilization.
+ Operate computerized Energy Management systems.
+ Respond immediately to emergency situations (fire, evacuation, equipment failure, etc.) and maintenance concerns.
+ Provide excellent customer service by responding to fix requests/problems in a timely and courteous manner.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
+ Comply with all policies and standards.
Essential Skills
+ Proven experience in building maintenance, construction, or a related field.
+ Commercial and/or office building maintenance experience.
+ Excellent knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry systems.
+ Significant commercial electrical experience is highly preferred.
+ Ability to use hand and power tools effectively.
+ Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
+ Excellent time management and organizational skills.
+ Excellent knowledge of safety protocols and regulations.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
+ 10 years of relevant experience required.
+ Must have a valid driver's license and might need to drive a fleet vehicle to travel between buildings.
Work Environment
The work environment involves maintaining commercial and office buildings, requiring knowledge of various building systems. The role may involve working with computerized Energy Management systems and responding to emergency situations. Dress code is professional, and the technician may need to travel between buildings using a fleet vehicle.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $35.00/hr.
