Job Title: Controls Technician

Actalent is searching for a Controls Technician to join a global leader in the home goods industry here in St. Louis, MO!

Job Description

Manage troubleshooting and support for electrical issues on production lines as well as facility equipment and infrastructure across the campus. Conduct routine and advanced PLC program modifications through project upgrades and maintenance troubleshooting activities. Develop new control systems for automation projects.

Responsibilities

+ Understand and demonstrate safe work practices at all times to ensure a safe work environment.

+ Comply with NEC, NEMA, NFPA, and OSHA code compliance.

+ Lead troubleshooting for equipment PLC programs to minimize downtime.

+ Create new PLC programs where necessary.

+ Design and implement control systems using sensors, motion control, and feedback loops.

+ Comply with all company policies and procedures.

+ Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

+ 4-6 years of relevant electrical controls technician experience in manufacturing.

+ Strong communication skills.

+ Ability to interpret and apply NEC, NFPA, and OSHA codes.

+ Familiar with 3 phase electrical power applications.

+ Experience with RS500, RS5000, Studio5000, and View Studio.

+ Experience with servo motors and controls.

+ Demonstrated ability with PLC troubleshooting, interface, and programming skills.

+ Ability to be a team player.

+ Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

+ Results-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.

+ Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and provide guidance to others.

+ Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics and prints.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ 4 year degree in Electrical Technology or Control Systems is preferred (will consider candidates with relevant experience).

Work Environment

80% manufacturing/20% office environment.

There is no travel associated with this role.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $36.05 - $43.27/hr.
