    Hiring 10 Lab Technicians for a Leading Agriculture Company – Summer Project Opportunity!

    Compensation

     

    $20 hourly to start

     

    Schedule

     

    Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 4 pm

     

    Start Date

     

    TBD, typically around July 6th – September/October (Seasonal opportunity)

     

    Potential for an offer to a higher-level department towards the end of the project if you perform well.

    Summary

    This role will be in the Vegetable Quality Lab, focusing on sample preparation, grinding, and labor-type functions.

    Job Description

    + The VQ lab prefers to onboard entry-level lab technicians (Bachelor’s degree with no work experience or some work experience) and train them from the bottom up, then promote their best lab techs into other departments.

    + Seeking college grads with a good work ethic and team player attitude who will appreciate the opportunity.

    + High volume of sample preparation for analysis (specifically tomato crops).

    + Utilization of advanced tools such as STAR, CAV, LOVIS, and Autoflex for gathering data on various crop samples for desired traits and future development in agriculture and plant pathology.

    + Experience with PCR, ELISA, and SDS-Page techniques.

    + Familiarity with titration, refractometers, and pipetting.

    + Adherence to safety protocols and standard procedures when handling samples.

    + Maintaining and restocking chemical inventory within the lab and identifying broken or defective equipment.

    + Strong team-building skills while working in a collaborative laboratory environment.

    + Experience in hazardous waste management.

    + Proven capability of working in a fast-paced environment.

    + Strong sense of commitment towards progress.

    Note

    You must be comfortable with a kitchen-like environment involving sample prep, grinding samples, and labor-type functions. If you prove yourself, you will have the opportunity to transition to a different department with more analytical skills in the future.

    Interview Process

    You will speak with the manager of the lab. If you receive an offer, you will start on July 7th.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
