Hiring for a PLC Subject matter expert but must have 5+ years of PLC programming from scratch experience to be considered for this role! Can support TN Visa's from Mexico and or Canada as long as you're already working/living in the United States.
Job Description:
Our client has a substantial amount of UPS controls system upgrades booked. The PLC Development Engineer will be responsible for the entire project lifecycle, including concept development, design, programming, FAT, initial on-site commissioning, and ongoing support for said product. You will manage multiple products/projects as the PLC Development Engineer and collaborate with various engineering disciplines, project management, Controls & HMI engineering teams, electrical engineering teams, and various customer groups.
Responsibilities:
+ Lead and develop complex integrated systems.
+ Mentor junior to mid-level engineers.
+ Oversee a sector of product and code development.
+ Partner with various vendors and engineering groups to develop code, development plans, test plans, and deployment & commissioning guides for new development activities.
+ Read and understand customer specification documentation and update code set functionality to match functional descriptions.
+ Document system specifications, interface designs, and test plans for Functional Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), and Commissioning Acceptance Tests (CAT).
+ Continuously improve the development process by incorporating best practices and industry standards.
+ Provide support for system commissioning, troubleshooting, and integration activities.
Essential Skills:
+ PLC Programming/Development - Allen Bradley programming from scratch is a must have
+ Rockwell required
+ HMI programming
+ 5+ years of experience as a controls engineer or in R&D Controls Development
+ Experience with material handling, shoe sorters, and or parcel systems
Preferred Experience:
+ Experience supporting high-speed conveyor systems within a warehouse distribution center. (Example: UPS, Amazon, FedEx, DHL, USPS, etc.)
Work Environment:
+ Remote work supporting new PLC projects for the company from scratch
+ Travel can be up to 30% in a year with the busy season being around October - Decemeber. The travel could be at the maxiumum 10 days on-site and 4 days off when you return.
+ Travel would be customer interfacing for new projects - not supporting commissioning they have their own team of Engineers for that.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $50.00/hr.
