As a Senior Regulatory Affairs Associate, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
+ Performing technical activities leading to regulatory compliance, assessment of safety to human health and the environment, liability avoidance and product responsibility issues concerning existing or new chemicals, materials, products, hard goods, technologies, and processes
+ Communicating with business management, division and corporate staff, manufacturing facilities, and regulatory experts within and outside of 3M
+ Completing regulatory assessments and reviews for global New Product Introduction (NPI) projects and Change Management Process (CMP)
+ Documenting and facilitating Lifecycle Management (LCM) and Environmental, Health, Safety and Regulatory (EHS&R) activities for new and existing products
+ Maintaining compliance files as mandated by division, corporate and/or external policies for assigned product lines
+ Interacting with customers and suppliers as needed around EHS&R activities
+ Anticipating and monitoring new regulatory developments and sustainability requirements within and outside the U.S., and identifying sustainability opportunities
+ Supporting the division by responding to societal trends and customer concerns relating to product transparency and regulatory compliance
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree or higher in a science or engineering discipline (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
+ Three (3) combined years of experience in Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), Regulatory Compliance and/or Product Stewardship experience in a private, public, government or military environment
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
+ Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Master’s Public Health, Materials Science or related discipline from an accredited institution
+ Working knowledge of CA Proposition 65; Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS); Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH); Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA); Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), California Air Resources Board (CARB), South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD), and Ozone Transport Commission (OTC) Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) rules/regulations and requirements
+ Experience with systems/business processes relevant to Regulatory or Product Responsibility, e.g. Chemical Data Management System (CDMS), Global Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), and Life Cycle Management System (LCMS)
+ Strong background in chemistry, including knowledge of urethane and epoxy coatings.
+ Consumer industry regulatory experience.

+ Hybrid Eligible (Job Duties allow for some remote work but require candidate to live in/near 3M Austin, TX or 3M Maplewood, MN locations)
+ Austin, TX or Maplewood, MN
Travel: May include up to 10% domestic/international

Applicable to US Applicants Only:The expected compensation range for this position is $122,292 - $149,468, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience. In addition, this position may be eligible for a range of benefits (e.g., Medical, Dental & Vision, Health Savings Accounts, Health Care & Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, Disability Benefits, Life Insurance, Voluntary Benefits, Paid Absences and Retirement Benefits, etc.).
