    Job Title: Press Brake Operator

    Job Description

    We are seeking a Press Brake Operator to join our team, specializing in custom-engineered electrical gear for the energy, industrial, and critical infrastructure sectors. This role involves making metal frameworks for cabinets that house electrical switchgears and power distribution systems. You will be responsible for forming and pressing metal by loading raw sheets into machines, operating both Manual and CNC Press Brake Machines.

    Responsibilities

    + Read and interpret blueprints to guide metal fabrication processes.

    + Measure metal with tape measures and verify dimensions.

    + Physically load large sheets of metal into machines.

    + Adjust machines to create different punches on 11 gauge sheet metal.

    + Operate both Manual and CNC Press Brake Machines in a fast-paced production environment.

    + Constantly load and set up sheets for processing.

    Essential Skills

    + 5+ years of experience in CNC operation.

    + Proficiency in press brake operation.

    + Experience with sheet metal fabrication.

    + Ability to read blueprints and measure accurately.

    + Competence in using measuring tools such as tape measures and calipers.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience in laser operation.

    + Familiarity with G&M code.

    + Knowledge of 11 gauge sheet metal handling.

    + Fiber laser operation skills.

    + Understanding of micrometer usage.

    Work Environment

     

    Our medium-sized shop is one of four facilities, characterized by a clean and organized setup. While not climate-controlled, it features open bay doors and numerous fans to ensure comfort. The shop is busy and fast-paced, with around 15 people per shift, including machine operators, fabricators, quality control staff, material handlers, and managers. The dress code requires steel toes, jeans, work shirts, and safety glasses. The night shift runs from Monday to Friday, 6:00pm to 6:00am, with common working hours ranging from 50-60 hours per week and a $2/hr differential. The day shift operates from 6:00am to 6:00pm, with similar working hours.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, Texas.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
