    Job Description

    As an Electrical Service Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional electrical services, ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of electrical systems. This position offers a dynamic work environment with opportunities for growth and development.

    Responsibilities

    + Install new electrical components, wiring, and panels, and maintain existing systems.

    + Perform preventative maintenance checks to prevent future issues.

    + Diagnose electrical problems, locate faults using tools and testing equipment, and make necessary repairs.

    + Ensure all work meets local, state, and federal electrical codes and regulations.

    + Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including parts used and time spent on each job.

    + Communicate effectively with clients about the nature of problems, estimated repair times, and costs involved.

    + Prioritize electrical safety throughout all work, ensuring the use of appropriate safety gear and adherence to safety procedures.

    + Read and interpret electrical blueprints and schematics to understand system designs and wiring layouts.

    + Collaborate with other technicians, electricians, and engineers on larger projects.

    + Provide training and guidance to junior technicians and apprentices.

    + Utilize and store all tools and equipment properly, ensuring their proper maintenance.

    + Provide regular updates to management on the status of work, including estimated timelines and progress.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in electrical installation and maintenance.

    + Strong troubleshooting and repair skills.

    + Ability to interpret blueprints and schematics.

    + Knowledge of local, state, and federal electrical codes and regulations.

    + Experience with commercial construction and electrical service.

    + Journeyman license.

    + Skill in using hand tools and equipment for electrical service.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience in field service and construction.

    + Ability to handle switchgear and preventive maintenance.

    + Strong communication skills.

    Work Environment

     

    You will perform service calls to commercial buildings, working both inside and outside. The position requires availability for a once-a-month rotation for 24-hour service work, offering overtime opportunities. You will be provided with a service van and gas card for efficient travel.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Harker Heights, Texas.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $37.00/hr.
