The Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs (EEA) Finance Team is responsible for oversight of executive office environment, energy, climate, and environmental justice budgets as well as coordination with finance teams of the six energy and environmental affairs agencies. The Finance Internship offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to state financial management from the perspective of energy and environmental affairs policy. * * *The intern will gain an understanding of:* * Assist with State Finance processes and procedures, including management of operating, capital, trust, and federal funding sources, as well as tracking revenue sources. * Support the legislative budget cycle, including tracking and coordinating the FY2025 operating budget. * Contribute to federal funding finance efforts, including tracking, coordination, and support for grant funding applications. * Perform accounting tasks such as billing, invoice payment processing, IT invoicing, audit preparation, transaction review, report development and review, and data entry. * Develop presentation materials for leadership focused on budget and program financial management. * Participate in special projects related to the financial management of environmental, energy, climate, and environmental justice initiatives. *Preferred Skills and Qualifications:* * Interest in Finance, Accounting, Environmental Policy or related field * Experience using Microsoft products including Word and Excel * Demonstrated interest in environment, energy, climate and environmental justice policies *First consideration will be given to those applicants that apply within the first 14 days.* *Please see Preferred Qualifications.* _*Comprehensive Benefits*_ When you embark on a career with the Commonwealth, you are offered an outstanding suite of employee benefits that add to the overall value of your compensation package.
