Position Summary** **:
The Senior Software Test Automation Engineer will serve as the technical expert for software test automation initiatives across robotic, imaging, and navigation platforms. This hands-on role is ideal for a dynamic, detail-oriented individual who brings expertise in test automation, embedded systems, and regulated environments. You’ll work cross-functionally to transition manual test methodologies into robust automated frameworks that improve test efficiency and maintain compliance with FDA standards. You'll also mentor other engineers and play a key role in shaping the future of test strategy.
Essential Functions:
+ Lead and execute test automation strategies across multiple software platforms (robotics, navigation, imaging).
+ Design, implement, and maintain automated test protocols to verify software requirements.
+ Innovate new ways to reduce test times through scalable automation frameworks.
+ Tie software automation into hardware fixtures to enable system-level functional testing.
+ Develop tools to enable risk-based and conditional testing based on FMEA outputs and mitigations.
+ Act as the subject matter expert on automated testing methodologies and tools.
+ Collaborate closely with development teams to drive software quality and ensure traceability to requirements.
+ Lead peer reviews of technical documents and contribute to test design reviews.
+ Participate in hands-on manual testing activities as needed to support overall verification goals.
+ Create and manage documentation, metrics, and schedules related to test activities.
+ Mentor and train junior engineers in automation best practices and tools.
+ Support labs, surgeries, and clinical settings as needed for integrated testing.
+ Adheres to the letter and spirit of the company Code of Conduct, the AdvaMed Code, MedTech Code, and all other company policies.
+ Ensures Compliance with applicable governmental laws, rules, and regulations, both in the United States and internationally, by completing introductory and annual training and maintaining knowledge of compliance as it applies to your role.
+ Represents the company in a professional manner and uphold the highest standards of ethical business practices and socially responsible conduct in all interactions with other employees, customers, suppliers, and other third parties.
Qualifications** **:
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
+ Minimum 5 years of experience in software development/ verification.
+ Demonstrated experience leading projects and coordinating across test teams.
+ Strong skills in C++, Python, Qt
+ Deep knowledge of test methodologies, test design, and implementation.
+ Experience working with tools such as Jenkins, Jira, Git, Confluence, and defect-tracking systems.
+ Familiarity with real-time operating systems and embedded systems.
+ Experience testing within Agile development methodologies.
+ Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative mindset.
+ Ability to manage priorities, work under pressure, and maintain high quality standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ 7+ years of software testing experience with a mix of manual and automated testing.
+ Background in FDA-regulated environments or medical device testing.
+ Experience creating CI/CD pipelines to support automated test execution.
+ Experience in integrating hardware-based system testing with automated frameworks.
+ Participation in risk analysis and mitigation planning.
+ Prior experience in mentoring or leading junior engineers or test interns.
Travel & Physical Requirements:
+ Occasional travel (up to 5%) to support system integration, labs, or customer deployments.
