About Us
Genesis isn’t another clinic—we’re frontline workers in the fight for health equity. As one of Chicago’s fastest-growing orthopedic practices, we deliver world-class musculoskeletal care to Medicaid patients others typically ignore. Our model? Pair surgeon-level precision with population health strategy to close the care gap. Now, we’re scaling.
The Role
As Chief of Staff, you’ll be the CEO’s right hand and the operational engine behind our rebellion against healthcare inequity. This isn’t admin work—it’s a startup-within-a-startup role where you’ll tear down systemic barriers to care while driving 10x growth.
What You’ll Do
+ Rewrite the Playbook: Architect growth strategies that balance scale with mission—expand into underserved neighborhoods while building partnerships that make elite orthopedics accessible to all.
+ Unlock Hypergrowth: Turn our Chicago blueprint into a regional (or national) expansion machine.
+ Operationalize Equity: Embed health equity into every KPI. Design patient acquisition funnels that reach marginalized communities, and retention programs that crush no-show rates.
Who You Are
A Medicaid Maverick: MBA from Booth, Kellogg, HBS (or equivalent) with healthcare focus.
Resourceful: Built a pop-up clinic in a food desert? Negotiated a risk-sharing model with a skeptical payer? The best candidates CV should seem like a MacGyver episode set in healthcare.
Hungry for Impact: Equity isn’t a buzzword—it’s why you get up. You’ll trade cushy corporate perks for the chance to add 1 million Medicaid lives to our patient roster.
Requirements
Education & Experience
+ MBA from a top-tier program (e.g., Booth, Kellogg, HBS) with a focus on healthcare, strategy, or operations.
+ 5–10+ years of progressive experience in healthcare strategy, growth-stage startups, consulting, or health systems—ideally with exposure to Medicaid or value-based care models.
+ Proven track record of scaling organizations, launching new markets, or driving complex initiatives from 0→1.
Strategic & Operational Skillset
+ Deep understanding of healthcare economics, especially Medicaid reimbursement, risk-sharing, and population health.
+ Exceptional ability to synthesize data, spot opportunities, and turn insights into scalable strategies.
+ Experience designing operational processes that improve access, reduce friction, and increase health equity.
Leadership & Communication
+ Executive-level presence with strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills—you can pitch a hospital CEO in the morning and inspire a community health worker in the afternoon.
+ Natural builder who thrives in ambiguity and motivates cross-functional teams without formal authority.
+ Comfortable being the CEO’s thought partner, challenger, and operator—able to think big and execute fast.
Mission Alignment
+ A deep, personal commitment to healthcare equity—you’ve taken risks, made career choices, or lived experiences that prove it.
+ Relentless resourcefulness and a bias toward action—if the front door’s locked, you find a side entrance.
+ Willingness to “get in the trenches” while building systems that scale beyond you.
