    Overview

     

    $70,000-$80,000

     

    The Proposal & Grant Writer is responsible for developing submissions for Requests for Responses (RFRs) for funding opportunities published by federal and government agencies including Department of Public Health (DPH), Department of Mental Health (DMH), Executive Office of the Health and Human Services (EOHHS), etc. The writer will work with subject matter experts to compile program information, required attachments, and write high-quality, compelling submissions that comply with funders’ requirements. In addition, the writer is responsible for developing and submitting applications for foundation grants, and other procurement documents

     

    This is a hybrid role requiring 2 in-office days per week. Monday through Friday 9am-5pm, with flexibility.

     

    Candidates should be equipped to provide a writing sample upon application.

     

    Minimum Education Required

     

    Bachelor's Degree

    Responsibilities

    + RFR Responses - 50%

    + Develop, write, and edit government submissions for RFRs, RFIs, and other procurement documents. Ensure clarity, compliance, and alignment with the specific technical, financial, and legal requirements outlined in the RFRs.

    + Collaborate with various internal teams, primarily supporting Behavioral Health funding requests, to gather information from subject matter experts, and synthesize into proposal submissions.

    + Ensure responses are complete, accurate, and on-time., including formatting, documentation, and any additional government-specific guidelines. Verify that all necessary certifications, program documentation, and other mandatory information are included.

    + Manage multiple proposals simultaneously, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet deadlines consistently.

    + Maintain organized and up-to-date records of all proposal-related documents, drafts, and communications.

    + Grant Applications - 30%

    + Write grant applications for funding through private, public, state, federal and other institutions including coordination of grant application process, writing, budget development and submission.

    + Utilize previous submissions and reports to funders to research content for compliant proposal responses.

    + Grant Administration - 20%

    + Research grant and other funding opportunities from foundations and government agencies.

    + Maintain records of submissions, responses, reports, and awards.

    + Develop reports for awarded grants.

    Other:

    + Adhere to all principles related to the Advocates Way.

    + Perform all duties in accordance with the agency’s policies and procedures.

    Qualifications

    Qualification/Education/Experience:

    + Bachelor’s degree in business, Communications, English, Public Administration, or related fields, or equivalent professional experience.

    + Minimum 3 years of experience in government RFR writing.

    + Minimum of 3 years of experience in behavioral health service delivery or writing for behavioral health funding procurement.

    + Exceptional writing and editing skills with the ability to present complex information in clear, persuasive, and concise language.

    + Familiarity with federal, state, and local government procurement regulations and policies.

    + Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with proven ability to manage multiple proposals simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with proposal management software/tools.

    + Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with teams and stakeholders to gather information and ensure proposal quality.

    + Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.

    + Strongly prefer that a candidate will have a demonstrated understanding of and competence in serving culturally diverse populations.
