Description of Job
The Emissions Program within the Department of Revenue - Division of Motor Vehicles is required by state statute to oversee the daily operations of the State’s automobile inspection and repair program. The DOR Emissions Program also licenses all inspection stations and inspectors that perform emission tests. The program audits all emissions test facilities located in a ten-county area along the Front Range to ensure proper operation and consumer service as provided by law.
We're hiring a detailed and customer service-oriented individual to be our Administrative Assistant II in the Emissions Program of the DMV! Use your customer service and communication skills to troubleshoot, research, and answer questions pertaining to the AIR (Automotive Inspection Readjustment) Program rules and regulations based on current state statutes and instructions. Your technology skills and attention to detail will allow for accurate and complete data entry. Primary Duties:
Customer and Stakeholder Relations -
+ Responds to questions via phone or emails from the general public, county clerks, and/or emissions inspection stations and emissions inspectors.
+ Screens emissions waiver requests and out-of-state emissions extension applicants to determine eligibility and communicates results to appropriate parties.
+ Assists customers with online instructions to pay license fees, passed test payment, and dealerships with purchasing temporary emissions exempt stickers online.
+ Sends correspondence to our contractor, fleet, diesel, and independent stations regarding applications and other emissions inspection-related questions.
Data Entry and Record Maintenance -
+ Processes various applications, payments, requests, and licenses in the appropriate databases.
+ Updates appropriate spreadsheets daily.
+ Prepares data for monthly reporting.
This position reports to the Howard office, if needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience Only:
Two (2) years of relevant experience in customer service and general clerical experience
General Clerical work experience is typically performed by office clerks and/or administrative assistants. This includes, but is not limited to tasks such as:
+ Experience providing exceptional customer service in-person or via email, online, and interfacing with a variety of people from many levels within the organization and community.
+ Data Entry including: entering information into a program or database (appointments, contact information, customer records)
+ Regular, daily work responsibilities utilizing equipment and software used in offices (E-Mail, Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Apps, etc.)
+ Regular, daily work responsibilities utilizing computer systems, scanners, printers, copiers, and other technologies
+ Typing professional emails, letters, reports, briefings, forms, memoranda, etc.
+ Reviewing and comparing data for accuracy and completeness. Gathering specified information and compiling routine reports

Conditions of Employment with the CDOR :
Employees are in a position of public trust in the performance of their job duties and must operate in a manner that maintains the highest standards of honesty, integrity, and public confidence.
As a condition of employment with the CDOR, all personnel must file all necessary Colorado Individual Income Tax (CIIT) returns and pay tax obligations, therefore all employees must undergo a pre-employment evaluation of their tax records/accounts to ensure compliance with this policy. Final candidates must also complete a successful background investigation and reference check prior to appointment. Certain positions based on duties may require scheduled background investigations .
