    What You'll Be Doing

    **Job Scope:** The Production Engineer is generally responsible for performing all aspects for complete designs of process engineering assignments. This work will be performed under general supervision in Shreveport, LA.

    Primary responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

    + Identify and monitor Key Process Indicators to sustain optimal plant operations and deliver on production, yield, and cost targets.

    + Main focus will be to assist plant Operations in successfully operating the process unit.

    + This will include raw material usages and tracking, yield conversions, and troubleshooting process issues as they arise.

    + Provide accurate, timely forecasts to Plant Finance to help meet financial commitments.

    + Interpret the health of the production system using PI and other data collection processes.

    + Participate in site HSE and Process Safety Management programs, including: Management of Change, Process Hazard Analysis, Root Cause Analysis/Incident Investigations, and development of Standard Operating Procedures.

    + Identify and monitor Key Process Indicators to sustain optimal plant operations and deliver on production, yield, and cost targets.

    + Develop and execute productivity projects to improve baseline safety, quality, production, and cost performance.

    + Assist in developing capital project scopes of work and associated process packages to improve or maintain unit operations.

    + Bridge multiple layers of organization between management and front-line workers to deliver plant safety and production objectives.

    + Mentor and train operations staff on unit design and intended/optimal operation.

    + Assist Operations department in troubleshooting plant operational issues.

    Ideal Background

    **Education:** Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Biochemical, or Petroleum Engineering from an accredited university is required.

    **Registration:** Professional Engineering registration or CPIP certification is highly preferred.

    **Experience:** Requires 3+ years of relevant industrial experience in chemical, petroleum, or biochemical process design engineering.

    Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    + Promotes the culture of working safely and applying safety related concepts into process design.

    + Basic knowledge of chemical/biochemical process engineering and chemical/biochemical process computer programs.

    + Familiarity with specifications and installation details of equipment, instrumentation, and piping.

    + Ability to create accurate process engineering documents from the information provided in vendor equipment data and drawings.

    + Complete understanding of the skills and experience required to perform process engineering and design functions.

    + Working knowledge of CAD software preferred, either AutoCAD or Microstation (or both).

    + Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

    + Working knowledge in the use of hydraulic simulation software such as AFT Fathom, AFT Arrow, PIPEPHASE, PIPE-FLO, and/or SiNet.

    + Working knowledge in the use of process simulation software such as Aspen Plus, Aspen Plus Dynamics, PRO/II, DYNSIM, HYSYS, CHEMCAD, WinGEMS, ProMax, etc.

    + Excellent communication and Virtual team skills

    Physical Requirements:

    + Ability to sit, stand, or walk for long periods of time.
