**Location** : This is a hybrid (virtual/onsite) position with required onsite days on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday and may be assigned to any Consumers Energy Service Center located throughout Michigan's lower Peninsula. The selected candidate must be within a commutable distance or willing to relocate (relocation package is available for those that qualify).
General Summary of Job Responsibilities
The Corrosion & Integrity Engineer is responsible for performing Corrosion Control and/or Direct Assessment (DA) work to ensure gas code compliance utilizing industry and company standards or processes to improve safety and maintain compliance. The Corrosion & Integrity Engineer will be responsible for building, managing, and analyzing data collected from multiple sources to be used in Corrosion Control (Internal Corrosion (IC), External Corrosion (EC) or Cathodic Protection (CP)) or DA Analytical Models (IC, EC, or Stress Corrosion Cracking (SCC)). The Corrosion & Integrity Engineer will be responsible for tracking Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s), preparation of contracts, selection of bids, review of invoices, project budgeting, and assisting with field work.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
+ Lead and/or assist with engineering projects to include design, plan, inspection, system planning, specifications, reports, maps, environmental impacts, permits, contracts, schedules, estimates, surveying, easements, data collection, construction observation, and field investigation
+ Build and/or maintain pipeline integrity database management system
+ Coordinate with other internal departments including: Gas Operations, Supply Chain, Gas Distribution Engineering, Engineering Asset Planning, Project Management, Project Controls, Customer Account Managers, Gas Control, Environmental, Real Estate and others
+ Provide engineering services with accuracy, integrating all applicable governmental and company laws, standards and procedures on time and under budget
+ Analyze and organize data from multiple sources including corporate records, geographic information system(GIS), and internally created documents
+ Understand and follow company established standard procedures for file structure, data collection, and data analysis for projects
+ Other duties as assigned or may be necessary
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

+ Utilizes effective oral and written communication skills to provide technical expertise to coworkers, clients, customers, government entities and the public
+ Knowledge and application of utility operations
+ Knowledge and/or experience with 49 CFR PART 192 subparts ''I'' ("Requirements for Corrosion Control") and ''O'' ("Pipeline Safety: Pipeline Integrity Management in High Consequence Areas (gas transmission pipelines)") and its references to ASME B31.8S
+ Proficiency in the following applications: ArcMap(GIS), eDNA, SAP, PCS, Citect, Power BI, Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Office Suite, including Teams
+ Ability to independently evaluate, select & apply engineering theory
+ Possess the skills to lead, problem solve, and work well in a team environment
+ Ability to solve complex problems; taking new perspectives using existing solutions
Education/Experience
+ Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited program with two (2) or more years of equivalent experience
+ **[OR]** Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from a non-ABET accredited program plus a Professional Engineering licensure with two (2) or more years of equivalent experience
+ NACE/AMPP certification required within one (1) year of hire
