Some of what you'll be doing:
The Port of Seattle is committed to assisting military personnel departing active-duty service transition to civilian employment. The Veteran's Fellowship Program is designed to provide short term (six months) employment that will assist veterans selected for the program in the following areas:
+ Identifying transferable skills
+ Exposure to a civilian work environment
+ Career assistance
+ Exposure to corporate business practices
+ Mentoring
+ Resume and interview assistance
Working in our Aviation Facilities & Infrastructure department, you will be managing the asset infrastructure annual validation of the infrastructure systems. Assets are identified utilizing Port, state, and federal approved criteria and build up into infrastructure systems. Assets are key to the Port’s infrastructure renewal and replacement program. You will assist the Asset Administrator for the Facilities & Infrastructure department. You will utilize analytics to forecast the progress of the annual asset verification. The verification validates assets that are in use, demolished, or impaired and informs the Port, state, and federal government that SEA has validated the assets at the airport.
+ You will assist with the development and execution of F&I’s asset management program.
+ You will establish and maintain efficient administrative processes and record-keeping, ensuring an accurate history of annual asset verification for the Aviation Division.
+ You will coordinate with other departments to validate assets are in use, demolished or impaired. The validation effort typically lasts six (6) months and duties include dividing assets into infrastructure categories and delegating the verification to the appropriate groups, measuring progress of the effort, and reporting the results to the executive leadership team.
+ You will assist users, troubleshoot technical issues, improve process & procedures, and resolve problems surrounding the asset program.
+ You will provide reports of completeness/time allowed for the project to the subject matter experts.
Who you are:
+ **A Veteran** – You have a minimum of three (3) years of active duty or mobilized reserve duty service in a branch of the U.S. Military Service (which includes the United States Coast Guard). Documentation of an honorable discharge from active or reserve status must be presented as part of the application process. Veterans Fellowship applicants must be within twenty-four (24) months of discharge to apply for a fellowship unless they have not worked full-time since their discharge and have been a full-time student in a degree or certification program since their discharge.

+ **Technologically Skilled** – You have strong database, computer, and technology skills.
+ **Knowledgeable** – You have a general understanding of infrastructure systems in the built (construction of facilities) environment such as structural steel, power, communication, HVAC, plumbing, etc.
+ **Tracking and Reporting** – You are able to track, measure, and report progress on completing the asset verification.
What else you need to know:
+ **Driver’s License** – You will need a valid Washington State Driver’s License, or the ability to obtain one, is required in order to travel locally to project sites.
+ **Work Schedule** – Your normal work schedule will be Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (40 hours per week). Slightly more flexible start and end times are available in this role.
+ **Work Environment** – You will primarily work remotely in accordance with the Port’s Flexible Work Arrangement policy and may be required to work in an office environment as needed to meet business and operational needs.
+ **Limited Duration** – This is a limited duration position and is expected to last no longer than six months.
+ **Safety Requirements** – You will be required to comply with all work rules, safety, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.
+ **Security Requirements** – As the successful candidate, you will/must pass a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) background check as well as a criminal history background check with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Your employment will be contingent upon obtaining a Port of Seattle ID badge upon clearance.
+ **Washington State Residency Requirement** – Employees must establish a residence in Washington State within 30 days of their first day of employment and must maintain a residence in Washington State during their employment with the Port of Seattle. If a position is eligible to telework, work performed while teleworking must be performed in Washington State.
