Job Description
The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Old Dominion University is hiring two full-time Lecturers to begin July 25, 2025. One of these positions should be capable of teaching courses that support the Forensic Chemistry major. This is a permanent non-tenure-track instructional position at the undergraduate level with an annual renewable contract.

Minimum required education and/or special licenses, registrations, trainings, or certifications
An M.S. in chemistry, biochemistry, forensic chemistry, or closely related field from an accredited institution.
Minimum required level and type of experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities
+ Demonstrated ability to teach chemistry lecture and/or lab courses at the undergraduate level.
+ The selected candidates will be expected to teach general chemistry lecture courses, as well as courses within their discipline.
+ Candidates should also be able to maintain, develop, and coordinate general chemistry labs, as well as lab courses within their discipline, and participate in service and curriculum development.
+ One candidate will also be expected to teach and develop lecture and lab courses, and participate in curriculum development for the Forensic Chemistry degree.
Preferred Qualifications
+ A Ph.D. in chemistry, biochemistry, forensic chemistry, or closely related field from an accredited institution
+ Experience managing large course sections
+ Experience teaching and managing courses with formal laboratory components
+ Ability to contribute to teaching in support of our new forensic chemistry degree plan
