    Where you’ll work:

    You will work onsite in Crystal City, VA initially and then transition to onsite in Manassas, VA within the first year.

    Our Customer’s Mission:

    Team Epsilon has been chosen to deliver full-spectrum IT and Cyber Security support to a critical and enduring multinational organization within the United States Department of Defense. This DoD organization manages the resourcing, development and sustainment of one of our nation’s most coveted and capable platforms. Our role in this mission involves managing classified environments, supporting international partners and foreign military sales (FMS) clients, providing top-tier desk-side support, and offering adaptable enterprise infrastructure solutions. Our services, ranging from systems administration and network engineering to Information security and data center management, are essential to the mission's success, so we’re looking for team members who are committed to delivering excellence without compromise and who view customer service as a top priority

    An average day:

    As Cybersecurity Engineer II, you will monitor, analyze, and detect cyber events and incidents within information systems and networks under general supervision. This position will analyze technical and non-technical data and metadata to determine normal patterns of events, proactively identify abnormalities, and determine root cause of abnormalities. All team members are expected to positively support a blended environment through excellence verbal and written communication skills. Additionally, in this position you will:

     

    + Architect, design, and deploy robust security controls and mechanisms in line with federal standards such as NIST, JSIG, RMF, and other applicable regulations to secure both on-premises and cloud environments.

    + Oversee the monitor of security events systems, logs, and alerts to detect and respond to threat.

    + Investigate security alerts and incidents and take appropriate mitigation steps.

    + Fix vulnerabilities and responsible for creating security incidents reports.

    + Continuously improve security operations processes and procedures.

    + Work with ISSO, security architecture to research, evaluate and recommend new security tools, techniques, and technologies in alignment with enterprise IT security strategy.

    + Ensure security of facilities, equipment, tools, data, networks, and resources throughout the program design, development, build, test, storage, deliver, operation and support.

    + Periodically conduct a review of each system audits and monitors corrective actions until all actions are closed.

    + Provide support to plan, coordinate, and implement tactical responses to improve the organization’s information security posture.

    + Stay current on cloud and cyber security technologies trends.

    + Utilize scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) to automate security processes, optimize workflows, and improve operational efficiency in threat detection and response.

    Basic Qualifications:

    + As a requirement of this position, all candidates must be a U.S. Citizen. In accordance with 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(2)(C) , Epsilon will not consider candidates for this position who do not meet the aforementioned conditions.

    + Minimum of 5 years as a system security engineer or information security engineer, with a strong technical background in security engineering and federal compliance.

    + Strong understanding of security principles, best practices, frameworks, and techniques.

    + Proficient with security tools and technologies, including SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, ArcSight), vulnerability scanners (e.g., Nessus, Qualys), endpoint protection (e.g. ESS, Tellix), and cloud security in AWS, Azure, and hybrid environments.

    + Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, Ansible) for security automation and process optimization.

    + Advanced skills in network security principles, firewall management, intrusion detection/prevention systems, encryption technologies, and endpoint security.

    + Preferred certifications include CCFP, CCSP, CEH, GCFA, GCIA, or equivalent advanced security certifications.

    Other Requirements:

    + Must have an active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret with SCI eligibility or have an active Top Secret with SCI eligibility. ( _This is a federal contract position and requires candidates to obtain and maintain the appropriate level of Security Clearance or Public Trust. Adjudication of the required Security Clearance or Public Trust is determined solely by the government. If the government determines that the candidate cannot obtain and/or maintain the appropriate level of Security Clearance or Public Trust, Epsilon will be unable to place the candidate in this position.)_

    + Will be subject to a federal background investigation.
