    Harborview Medical Center’s Intake and Brief Intervention Services** has an outstanding opportunity for a **Mental Health Practitioner** **WORK SCHEDULE

     

    + 100%FTE

    + Day Shift **DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION**

    The Intake and Brief Interventions Clinic provides initial screening and assessment of new patients as well as provides brief intervention services to assigned patients seeking behavioral health treatment.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    + Provide initial screenings and assessments for new patients seeking services

    + As part of a multidisciplinary treatment team, work with patients and their social networks to assist in their recovery from mental illness

    + Assess patient needs and determine interventions

    + Provide brief crisis interventions and brief therapy

    + Participate in case reviews

    + Chart patient contact in the electronic health record

    + Coordinate medication services with team’s medical staff

    + Prepare information requested by outside agencies such as DSHS, Social Security Administration, and Seattle Housing Authority **REQUIREMENTS**

    + A Master's Degree in behavioral sciences, such as psychology, psychiatric nursing, occupational therapy, vocational or educational counseling, or social work

    + OR Bachelor's Degree in nursing or a behavioral science AND three years' of experience in the direct delivery of professional mental health care

    + Registration as either an 1) Agency Affiliated Counselor, 2) Licensed Social Work Associate -Advanced, or Licensed Social Work Associate - IndependentClinical, 3) Licensed Mental Health Counselor – Associate or Licensed Mental Health Counselor by the State of Washington within 30 days of employment. **DESIRED**

    + Fluency in Spanish
