    Penn Medicine is seeking a full-time, day shift Clinical Informatics Pharmacist, Ambulatory/Retail for the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP).

    Summary:

    The Clinical Informatics Pharmacist ("CI Pharmacist") will understand and develop solutions to improve the medication use process, and thus, improve patient outcomes, patient safety and operational efficiency. The CI Pharmacist will also partner with key stakeholders to establish those solutions into electronic health records ("EHR") and other relative technologies used with the designated areas of responsibilities.

    Responsibilities:

    •

     

    Supervise efforts for effective process design, development, and implementation in all aspects of the EHR and clinical decision support software as it related to the medication process including all components (from ordering through administration).

     

    •

     

    As the liaison, coordinate and collaborate with multiple clinical and technical stakeholders to design and deliver systems which are interoperable with core systems and outside entities, as appropriate.

     

    •

     

    Manage and leverage data from EHR and various technology systems. This includes, but not limited to providing analytic support to pharmacy staff, partner with stakeholders to build out reporting capabilities and uses, develop dashboards to monitor and improve pharmacy efficiency from various aspects of practice, e.g., clinical, operational, and financial.

     

    •

     

    Focus on improving workflows through the effective use of technologic solutions. Lead and manage efforts to continually improve clinical information systems.

     

    •

     

    Facilitate governance processes for various technology systems

     

    •

     

    The qualified individual will ensure that ongoing maintenance is in compliance with policies and procedures.

     

    •

     

    Subject-matter expert in relative human factors, patient safety, and the use of technology to optimize care delivery processes and effectively communicate patient care delivery processes and effectively communicate patient care activity.

    Demonstrates an understanding of industry, organizational practices and informatics to effectively improve patient outcomes, medication use process and increase safety and efficiency.

    Performs duties in accordance with Penn Medicine and entity values, policies, and procedures

    Other duties as assigned to support the unit, department, entity, and health system organization

    Credentials:

    + PharmD from an Accredited school of pharmacy (required)

    + PA pharmacist license (required)

    + PGY1 Pharmacy Residency or equivalent experience (preferred)

    + PGY2 Informatics Residency training (preferred)

    + EPIC certification (preferred
