    Description

    GMC Dublin is currently accepting applications for a Dean of Instruction. The Dean of Instruction manages the day-to-day operations of the GMC satellite location including academic and student support services, faculty hiring, credentialing, and evaluation; adjudicating faculty grievances/issues and student petitions/complaints; and overseeing Department Chairs and Faculty. Serves as level-one support for student support services . S erves as Title IX investigator and point of contact for Cleary Act issues while administering all nonacademic disciplinary issues including the Code of Conduct and Student Honor Council; oversees satellite activities/events. Oversees physical security of the building, state vehicles and fuel cards, and facilities including property accountability, general interior business maintenance, custodial service, exterior ground maintenance/lawn service, and hazardous materials. Serves as point of contact and community liaison for building and growing relationships with community stakeholders and educational partners. Performs additional duties as assigned/required.

    Primary Responsibility:

    + Manages the day-to-day academic operations and location level academic and student support services for the including but not limited to providing guidance for academic strategy; hiring and credentialing of faculty; problem-solving students’ academic issues and addressing student complaints; and ensuring compliance with all academic and faculty-related policies as outlined in institutional policy documents.

    + Collaborates with academic leadership to establish the annual course schedule and collaborates with the Coaching Directors to meet key performance metrics for enrollment. Coordinates with academic leadership to execute textbook and other course material needs as directed.

    + Oversees physical security of the building , state vehicles and fuel cards, and facilities including property accountability, general interior building maintenance, custodial service, exterior ground maintenance/lawn service, and hazardous materials. Performs additional administrative duties and services in other areas of responsibility as assigned.

    + Serves as the point of contact for Faculty and Student Grievances/Issue/Disciplinary Measures. Conducts annual performance evaluation of Department Chairs, oversees administration of the Faculty Evaluation System, supports Department Chairs in the creation of Faculty professional development plans.

    + Supports SACSCOC compliance of Principles of Accreditation and substantive change when necessary. Monitors SACSCOC compliance for Dual Enrollment off-campus instructional sites.

    + Attends location, community and institutional events, assists in planning and execution of graduation, and performs other related duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Education:

    Minimum Required: Master’s degree in an academic discipline

     

    Preferred Level: Doctorate or equivalent (PhD, EdD, DPA, JD) in an academic discipline

    Experience:

    Minimum Required: Full-time higher education experience to include experience teaching college students or working in Academic and Student Support Services.

     

    Preferred Level: 4+ years of full-time higher education teaching experience and higher education administration experience in an Academic Affairs/Operations setting.

    Skills:

    Minimum Required: Familiarity withaccreditation standards. Demonstrated knowledge of commonly accepted policies and procedures in academia. Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated leadership and managerial skills; Attention to detail.

     

    Preferred Level: Familiarity withaccreditation standards and the SACSCOC accreditation process. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
