Job Overview

The University of Dubuque is a growing faith-based University that is seeking a **Graduate Assistant for** **International Student Services and Study Abroad** for the 2025-2026 term, with a potential renewal for 2026-2027.

Primary Responsibilities:

+ Work closely with the Director in the assigned work area to develop and implement programming, activities, initiatives, and special events to engage the campus and community

+ Provide support and guidance for undergraduate students by offering advice and being a role model

+ Assist with advertising and public relations by coordinating social media messaging, designing and distributing marketing materials, and promoting events and activities

+ Assist with general office support, including greeting guests and visitors, scheduling meetings and appointments, and monitoring office email accounts.

+ Attend and contribute to regular meetings for your work area and for the Student Life division

+ Attend and support activities and events within all work areas of the Student Life division

+ Perform other duties as assigned in support of the University's _Mission_

Requirements:

+ Bachelor's degree is required and the position is conditional based on acceptance into University of Dubuque Masters' program

+ Proficient computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office products

+ Excellent interpersonal communication skills

+ Ability and willingness to work with students, staff, faculty, alumni, and community members from a variety of backgrounds

+ Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple ongoing projects

+ Demonstrated professional behavior and service-oriented attitude

+ Propensity for self-motivation and initiative

+ Interest in a higher education career path

+ Experience planning or supporting events

All graduate tuition is waived for the student for the term in which they serve as a GA. In return for a waiver of tuition, the assistantship recipient agrees to provide service to the University equivalent to twenty (20) hours per week. Additionally, domestic GA's have the option to participate in work-study. Although it may be within a different department from which the GA serves.
