**PsychoGenics** is a preclinical CRO with expertise in central nervous system (CNS) and orphan disorders. PsychoGenics is a well-established preclinical Contract Research Organization (CRO) that provides comprehensive preclinical testing capabilities in CNS and orphan disorders. PsychoGenics has established several automated behavioral platforms, including the SmartCube platform that provide phenotypic screening at an industrial level to support drug discovery programs. The Company has created a CNS drug discovery group to support internal drug discovery programs that exploit the technology platforms and is seeking an experienced project manager (PM) to support discovery and nonclinical development activities.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
This role will work closely with the scientific leaders and external consultants to drive the development and execution of high-quality, integrated cross-functional program plans that enable overall program strategy. A strong background in project management operations along with good scientific competency in small molecule drug discovery and drug development are essential for this role to successfully translate the Company strategy into execution.
We are looking for a collaborative, positive, self-driven individual with the ability to work seamlessly in a small cross-functional team that combines internal staff, contractors, consultants, and other external resources to deliver against aggressive timelines.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
+ Develop, maintain, track, and manage project milestones and deliverables.
+ Communicate, document, and archive partnership and project team activities, risks, milestones, deliverables, and decisions.
+ Drive program decision-making processes, and coordinate with the team or functions to identify and resolve program or resource issues.
+ Act as a primary contact for project team-related information.
+ Oversee and prepare project team budget including resources and costs, collaborating with Finance and other cross-functional departments.
+ Actively facilitate project team meetings (including the preparation of meeting agendas, minutes, and follow-up action items), cross-functional communication and decision making, ensuring alignment with internal and external stakeholders.
+ Prepare routine and/or ad hoc project status/dashboard reports, and maintain project team data respositories.
+ Participate in implementing improvements to project management processes, tools, and infrastructure to ensure ongoing efficiency.
+ Present project deliverables, budget, and timelines to management.
Required Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's degree with a minimum 10 years of relevant project management/scientific experiencw within the pharmaceutical industry OR a MS or MBA with a minimum 5 years of relevant experience OR a PhD in a scientific field or a PharmD, DVM or MD with 3+ years of relevant experience.
+ PMP (Project Management Professional) or equivalent preferred, but not required.
+ Project management experience within the Biotech or Pharmaceutical field in discovery and/or development area.
+ Solid understanding of all aspects of drug discovery and development.
+ Proficient in project management principles and tools such as MS Project, Smartsheet, and other project visualization software.
+ Self-motiviated and highly flexible individual who is able to manage multiple tasks and priorities within a fast-paced environment with minimal oversight.
+ Demonstrated ability to influence without authority.
+ Strong understanding of technology and tools for collaboration and work efficiency.
+ Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
+ Individual must have a regular, on-site presence in Paramus, NJ.
+ Occasional national and/or international travel to meetings, congresses, trainings, etc. as needed (approximately 10% of the time).
