    Summary

    The Custom Truck vacuum team lacks subject matter experts other than the product managers and a few account managers. This places extra pressure on the PM staff to answer service calls and train technicians on the nuances of the equipment. Having additional qualified personnel on the vacuum staff would reduce this load and allow them to spend more time on sales-related activities.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    + Become Subject Matter Expert (SME) on Tornado and Load King vacs to help alleviate pressure on PM staff by taking service calls and helping field technicians diagnose problems.

    + Organize and train a team of like-minded experts to meet the service and training demands of the organization.

    + Travel on-site to help with service issues on high profile cases which cannot be solved after continued conversations over the phone.

    + Assist sales team in coordinating customer “in-service” demonstrations.

    + Establish process improvement plan with Call in Center leadership to increase technical knowledge base & support effectiveness of CIC representatives where relevant to vacuum equipment.

    + Develop educational curriculum, course materials, interactive training modules, and diagnostic simulators.

    + Establish training area that best facilitates classroom and practical work with the ability to adapt and expand as necessary.

    + Communicate with departmental & branch leadership to determine specific training needs and incorporate them into the training development.

    + Provide skill gap analysis feedback to supervisors after course completion.

    + Maintain training program budget, operational expenditures, and fixed assets.

    + Ensure the training team and students operate within the best practices for safety and security of intellectual property.

    + Promote a progressive training environment that fosters technical growth and career advancement.

    + Ensure organizational standards and culture are maintained within the scope of our policies.

     

    Required Skills and Qualifications

    _Qualifications include:_

    + 5+ years working with heavy equipment in a manufacturing/service/repair environment

    + 2+ years in managerial or leadership role

    + Computer savvy with the knowledge and ability to utilize advanced applications

    + Understanding of mobile equipment hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems and reading schematics

    + Proficient in process development and improvement

    + Ability to create organizational structure, recognize talent, and build effective teams

    + Ability to travel within North America, including Canada.

    Preferred Skills and Qualifications

    + Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering

    + Knowledge of manufacturing and production methods for heavy equipment

    + Detail Orientated – Ability to pay close attention and notice minor details.

    + Industry Expert – Mechanically inclined with knowledge of machines, parts, tooling, and vendors.

    Working Conditions

    + _The job will require performance under extreme temperature variations and some hazardous conditions._

    + _Must be able to safely operate equipment heavy equipment at heights up to and exceeding 100 feet._

    Physical Requirements

    + _Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing on ladders and platforms of heights above 42”, significant stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling throughout an 8-12 hour day, and up to 60 hours per week._
