About the Team

At Nutanix, you will join the Private Cloud team under the broader GCO - Global Cloud Operations team, consisting of 35 passionate individuals located across the US, Netherlands, Serbia, and India. As part of this diverse group, you will experience a dynamic and high-energy IT environment that prioritizes innovation and operational excellence. The team thrives on collaborative efforts, fostering a sense of unity despite geographical dispersion. The GCO team plays a crucial role within Nutanix, ensuring the smooth operation of critical systems through cutting-edge technologies and automation.

You will report to the Manager of Hybrid Cloud Operations, who is dedicated to supporting your professional growth and success within the team. The work setup at Nutanix is remote/hybrid, allowing for flexibility in balancing work-from-home and in-office needs. For those local to a Nutanix office, the expectation is to be present 1-2 days a week in the office, fostering in-person collaboration and team bonding.

Your Role

+ Ensure 24/7 availability of Nutanix Cloud

+ Respond to alerts and tickets from support team

+ Troubleshoot and resolve issues

+ Work with QA, Dev, and Infrastructure teams for monitoring solutions

+ Deploy patches, upgrades, and administrative tools

+ Participate in on-call rotation

+ Maintain strong knowledge of Linux and related applications

+ Utilize strong scripting skills

What You Will Bring

+ Strong working knowledge of Linux/UNIX and related applications

+ Strong scripting skills (e.g. Python, Bash, etc.)

+ Experience in a 24/7 NOC environment for a cloud provider

+ Knowledge of cloud infrastructure (firewalls, load balancers, DNS, DHCP, NAT)

+ Experience with Nutanix AOS, AHV, Prism Central, etc.

+ Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills

+ Advanced Linux/Unix system administration skills

+ Knowledge of cloud technologies and architecture, specifically SaaS environment

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between USD $ 99,200 and USD $ 198,000 per year.

However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
