    Forensic Accounting Manager (FEMA Experience Required)

    + **Advanced knowledge of disaster grant applications including FEMA’s Public Assistance Program and Policy Guide required.**

    + This role is open to be based remote in Los Angeles County OR hybrid in the Glendale, CA Sedgwick office*.

    + Client facing role with periodic travel to client site required.

    **PRIMARY PURPOSE:** To be responsible managing forensic accounting team; to oversee the preparation of forensic accounting public entity claims to FEMA; including file triage, deployment of appropriate resources, responsible for meeting client expectations, and work product standards. Evaluates client's income losses suffered in financial disputes.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES

    + Oversees and prepares large property damage claims on behalf of public entity clients who are seeking disaster grants from FEMA.

    + Oversees and performs forensic accounting calculations and adhoc reporting.

    + Assist and advise clients on matters concerning the submission of federal disaster grants.

    + Directs and reviews the work of the forensic accounting department.

    + Demonstrates expertise in accounting, damage calculations, litigation support and business skills in assisting clients involved in financial disputes.

    + Communicates with adjusters, insureds, claimants, and insurance company staff regarding files.

    + Markets profession services to adjusters and insurance company personnel.

    ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES

    + Performs other duties as assigned.

    + Supports the organization's quality program(s).

    + Travels as required.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Education & Licensing

    Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred. Accounting, finance, or economics experience preferred. CPA or CFE is preferred.

    Experience

    Eight (8) years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required to include five (5) years of accounting experience.

    Skills & Knowledge

    + Advanced knowledge of business income losses, lost profits, inventory, and forensic accounting calculations.

    + Good Oral and written communication, including presentation skills

    + PC literate, including Microsoft Office products

    + Advanced Excel skills

    + Analytical and interpretive skills

    + Strong organizational skills

    + Ability to multitask

    + Ability to work in a team environment and/or independently

    + Ability to meet or exceed Performance Competencies

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    As required by law, Sedgwick provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in jurisdictions requiring pay transparency in job postings. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide range of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and cost of specific location. For the jurisdiction noted in this job posting only, the range of starting pay for this role is $110,000.00 to $150,000.00USD annual salary. Commission eligible role. A comprehensive benefits package is offered including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, 401k and matching, PTO, disability and life insurance, employee assistance, flexible spending or health savings account, and other additional voluntary benefits.
