POSITION DETAILS
The Academic Program Coordinator will report to the Department Chair. This role is crucial in facilitating effective communication between students and faculty, particularly within the Mathematics and Statistics majors and in supporting students' academic success through a variety of administrative and advisory functions. In addition to CUNY title overview, responsibilities include the following:
- Serve as a primary point of contact for current and former students, faculty, and staff, addressing inquiries via phone, email, and in-person regarding academic policies and resolving issues.
- Assist students with the completion of forms and requests to administrative offices such as the Bursar and Registrar, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
- Address course registration issues, including obtaining special permissions, requisite approvals, and facilitating waiver requests to ensure a smooth registration process.
- Maintain accurate records for Change of Grade forms; gather necessary documentation for transfer credit evaluations and monitor the evaluation process to provide timely updates to students.
- Help publicize course offerings and ensure students have access to timely and essential registration information and textbook details.
- Assist in maintaining and updating departmental websites and bulletin boards and social media to ensure that up-to-date information, critical due dates and current accurate course, section and faculty information is available.
- Support the management of departmental databases related to curriculum, major lists, book adoptions and student records through data entry, organization, and regular updates.
- Assist in organizing, administering and publicizing departmental faculty and student engagement activities, such as student workshops and seminars, as well as faculty development, to promote academic success and community building.
- Provide general academic advisement materials, including curriculum maps, to students in the Mathematics and Statistics majors, helping them navigate their academic paths effectively.
- Supervises part-time college assistants and work-study students assigned to assist with relevant duties.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree required. A degree in mathematics, statistics and/or computer science is a plus.

- Supports the directors and managers with orientation preparation, student advisement regarding program requirements, and providing basic information about financial aid and registration
- Manages office records including faculty files; prepares reports and surveys; collects and maintains statistical data on program activities
- Serves as liaison to various College offices to provide service delivery and appropriate referrals to students
- Collects and reviews syllabi to ensure compliance with standards
- Serves as resource person for students and faculty regarding program policies and procedures
- May supervise office operations and/or monitor department budget
- Performs related duties as assigned.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Salary commensurate with education and experience, within approved range $51,781-$75,131.
